Top juniors in the state

Featured Replies

No I think he hit it. Collinsworth and Roller are the top two D1 prospects from Highlands next year. Who else would you put? And you can't name the entire roster..

No I disagree there are more than just the two mentioned and if you don't know just wait and find out!!!

Nathen Dillon #10 RB Johnson Central

Josh Lackey #? OL Johnson Central

TJ Chin #21 RB Rowan Co.

Rees MacShara RB Boyle

Collinsworth WR Highlands

These Juniors are all huge playmakers on their team

Will Bardo, next years Highands QB. Will is 6-4 (Legit) He was on the 4x100 relay team that I think won state last year. (Someone correct me on this if I am wrong).

Will is starting at DB this year behind Tony Guidugli. I have yet to see a team that Highlands has played that Will wouldn't start for at QB. He doesn't get to play much when the 2's go in for Highlands because of the risk of injury since he is a starter and because he wouldn't be throwing anyway.

Will is the real deal. He is smart, fast, tall, strong and has a sweet lefty arm.

You will hear lots more about him next year.

Oh yea, he had two picks out of the 4 passes thrown by Johnson Central last Friday.

Bad handoff but didn't drop the bataan for the 4X100, however did win state in the 4X400 and came in third in the 4X200.

I hate to qoute myself but I need to clear something up it wasn't Collinsworth's fault on the handoff, it's part of the game and sometimes things don't work out the way we want. Bardo and Collinsworth had a bad exchange together. But don't worry they have two more years to work this out!!!:dancingpa

To be honest, I think you might end up disappointed. Collinsworth and Roller are the only ones I've seen who have LEGIT D1 chances. This Bardo that you all speak about might, as I did hear he was a good QB [have heard he would not start on EVERY school up here as some think, but that he would at a few] and obviously he is a solid DB so we shall see. Beyond that I doubt it is D1, more so just good highschool ball players, who can play at the next level, just not necessarily D1 caliber.

Yepp, the two names I remember most were Richardson and Dillon for JC when I was down there 2 weeks ago. Good RB.

Don't just focus on Bardo at the next level, you have others and I hate to mention names because someone may be left out, however two at Highlands that stand out are Grubbs and Welz, both have the size to compete at the next level. How many times have you seen a kid playing in High school and wonder why college coaches are so high on this kid??? They must know something we don't, you can't teach speed and size.

Another thing that I would like to add is every player is an injury away from having the opportunity to play at the next level. If they are fortunate enough to have the opportunity hopefully they will concentrate on their education because that is more important than playing this game.

Who are the top (current) juniors in the state? Please include position and other particulars.

Fort Campbell quarterback Antonio Andrews comes to mind quickly.

Antonio Andrews: Will be on the short list for Mr. Football next year, even though he is from a small school. Antonio, right now, is one of the most exciting players in the state. Ft. Campbell doesn't get the press coverage that many of the larger schools in Kentucky receive, but his name is starting to get out there.

He is currently a smaller version of West Virginia QB Pat White. Should Antonio continue to grow a couple of inches, he has the speed, skills, and instinct to attract the attention of many college programs.

LCA:

RB Dominique Hayden

QB Lucas Witt

Bardo and West will be the top qbs in NKY next year IMO. This year you could possibly argue that Kues was better and maybe Guidugli (maybe) but other than that I'm not even sure who else could enter the conversation.

Jake Smith of NCC is a very talented T/DE. He is very fast for his position and very aggressive.

Isn't he part of that Ft. Thomas Smith human genome project? I heard they've reloaded the pipeline...but he's still a few years off! Jake should be one of the top lineman in NKY next year.

Hunter Schlosser of HHS should be right there with him for "top doggie". The lineman don't get the pub/stats that the "glory guys" do, but they'd be nothing without them!!

Looks like the '09 class will be a nice crop for the state of KY.

I'd go with Kues although he is not a TRUE QB, he was the best up here. But he is not a D1 QB so that is why he was not entered into the conversation, and he is also a senior right? Guidugli was not better than West. And I DO think West will be the best QB up here next year. I can't comment on Bardo's QB'ing ability as I've never seen him play, though I've heard he is good.

Tyrrell Willis RB 6'2" 240lb Calloway County

245 carries for 1605 and 19 TD's

30 catches for 524 and 9 TD's

3-5 passing for 95 yrds 1 TD

no stats for kick returner at this time...

also had 73 tackles playing on defense. He has played every position in the front 7 for the Laker D this year. To my knowledge, he has NOT played corner or safety, but that is it...

I would have to put Chris Muse in the mix.
