  1. Tyrrell Willis RB 6'2" 240lb Calloway County 245 carries for 1605 and 19 TD's 30 catches for 524 and 9 TD's 3-5 passing for 95 yrds 1 TD no stats for kick returner at this time... also had 73 tackles playing on defense. He has played every position in the front 7 for the Laker D this year. To my knowledge, he has NOT played corner or safety, but that is it...

  6. I will say that I could not have been more wrong about this one. It was obviously a good game, but I was even more wrong about how it was played. It was McLean that controlled the line of scrimmage. They ran almost twice as many plays as Murray (62-32). Murray was held 1-11 passing for 26 yds, and had less than 90 yards on the ground. I did not attend the game, but it sounds like Murray was fortunate to have a chance to win. Congratulations to McLean County!
  7. I think Murray's O-line wears down McClean this year. Murray will control the ball and hit a few big plays in the passing game. Murray 34-14

  9. Great game! Murray's wishbone and huge O-line moved the ball effectively from 20 to 20, but Calloway County's Defense stiffened on two occasions inside their 20 on two occassions stopping the Tigers on 4th down twice in the second half and holding them a field goal (22yd) in another. After Murray forced a Calloway punt from their own 25yd line with around 6 minutes left, the Murray return man was hit and fumbled the ball which was recovered by the Lakers. Down 17-14, Casey Brockman put together another strong drive and hit Austin Hargrove on a 28 yd Td pass to take the lead. The Tigers were forced out of the wishbone, and although Murray QB Jordan Garland (Sr) had a nice game, the Laker defense put tons of pressure on him and forced an interception to seal the Tigers fate.

  11. Are there any good books or websites that deal with getting prepared for the baseball recruiting process? Or for making yourself more attractive to recruiters?
  12. I believe the center was ejected for throwing a punch and Logan Armstrong appeared to be ejected for arguing with the officials. The ejection occured after he had been out of the game quite some time. He got hurt in the second quarter and was ejected in the fourth.
  13. I have not seen many teams this year, but I will agree that Corey Robinson from Lone Oak has to be in this discussion. I do feel that his stats might be a bit inflated because of the schedule, but he is very talented and a better athlete than I thought he would be.
  14. Calloway County's best QB ever was Robert "POOKIE" Jones.
  15. I will only base my opinion on the few Mr. Football's that I have been fortunate enough to see in person. I have seen: Travis Atwell Kurt Barber Pookie Jones Billy Jack Haskins Tim Couch Dennis Johnson Micheal Bush Curtis Pulley Brian Brohm Out of all of these, I would have to say Micheal Bush was the most dominant football player I have ever seen. I saw the Hoptown game at Trigg County and I believe he scored in almost every way possible. I remember that he threw a Td (i think 3), ran for a TD, returned a punt for TD, returned a kick, and an interception. I was actually surprised that he didn't kick the extra point. The other guys on this list were great football players, but for my money, give me the guy that dominated every snap of the game. You could not keep him off the field.

  17. Anytime you can get a win over Hoptown, it is a good day. But, this appears to be the least talented Tiger team I have seen in years, maybe ever. Allen Williams looked strong again and the marshall D was solid. I was really surprised to see the # of 2-way players Marshall had considering they dress 85 players. Hoptown has to figure something out at Qb or they are gonna have a long season. With the district they are in, they will surprise me to win more than 3 games this year unless they find soemthing and quick.
  18. Last I heard, Trey Travis is expected to suit up for the Murray game. If he is not 100%, I still like Calloway as Willis and 3rd back Jordan Bumpus to have nice success. Even though Murray has gone to a almost exclusive passing attack, I think Calloway will surprise teams this year with their ability to throw the football with new QB Casey Brockman and talented recievers Chris Dobbins and George Garner.
  19. Calloway held their own 1st team vs 1 st team early with each team scoring twice( Willis had a 60+ yard run). Calloway took starters out early and it showed as Christian pulled away. All in all though, I thought Calloway was very respectable. Although there were no punts or kickoffs and I feel that giving Christian county's speed players the ball in the open field would have made a difference in a real game.

  21. I have heard that Trey Travis did hurt his ankle, but I have not heard that he was out for friday's game. It will be interesting to see if he plays, I still like calloway in the game, even if Trey does not play. Willis getting the ball more will not hurt calloway, although, he does need to be able to play hard on both sides of the ball. Calloway also has another capable back to take some of the load off of willis if need be. Jordan Bumpus is a nice 3rd string back.
  22. The Calloway/Christian CO. scrimmage was cancelled on thursday, but they ended up having it the next night( a week ago friday).
  23. I think Calloway will pull away late. I predict 33-21 Calloway. It will definately not be as one-sided as the 44-0 calloway victory last year. I see calloway controlling the ball with Travis and Willis. I am interested to see how well Murray runs the wide open passing game, and whether the Calloway coaches adjust to defending it.
  24. The thing about Tyrell is that no one has that kind of size at running back on this side of the state. He will not get the bulk of the carries, but I assure you that he can play. I did not watch much of the scrimmage, but I don't think that he got the ball very much. This is not an accident. I think he only carried the ball 3 or 4 times against Christian County last week. One of them being a 70+ yard run. His touches will be limited again this year, with calloway still having Sr rb #1 trey travis ( a small, shifty back). But when the game is on the line and, a play has to be made i would expect #31 to touch the ball.
