November 28, 200817 yr Two people have died after a shooting inside the Toys-R-Us in Palm Desert Friday morning, Riverside County Sheriff's Department confirmed. The shooting comes on the morning of Black Friday, one of the year's busiest shopping days. http://www.kesq.com/global/story.asp?s=9427148
November 28, 200817 yr Supposedly the police had to come out to the Wal-Mart in Owensboro today to break up a fight. You couldn't pay me to go shopping today. I know of 2 different fights between ladies at the Harrodsburg Wal-Mart this morning. Are these itmes that much on sale that today they got to be bought? I'll watie unitll 12:00 midnight or later next week and go to my open 24 hr. wal-mart and shop with peace.
November 28, 200817 yr Black Friday is stupid. They should have a sale that last all weekend and have plenty in stock. The stores will still get their money and the consumer the product.
November 28, 200817 yr If I ever buy anything on "Black Friday" I'll do it from the safety of my computer.
November 28, 200817 yr Absolutely sad. However, if Wal-Mart runs their sales like this the blame has to spread to them as well. I've been to Best Buy for Black Friday sales for three years straight now and I've yet to see a problem with how they run their sale. They pass out numbered cards based on when you got in line to ensure people are cutting or pushing their way to the front. Then BB will start at the front of the line with fliers for their "door buster" items. If they only have 15 of an item that is all the fliers they pass out. The closer you are to the front the better the chance you get what you want.
November 28, 200817 yr I see a major law suit. Sad really, I hope that Wally world really has to pony up major cash for these families. Absolute nightmare. I understand that it was the out of control people that trampled folks, but this is nothing new. Heck, a lady broke her foot last year here in Ashland when something similar happened on Black Friday. Walmart is going to have to do something about the folks that "camp out" and let them in gradually or something. Perhaps TD could come down there with some tazers!!

(needless to say, I won't do that again) Last year I went to Meijer, and didn't have or see any of these issue's. I would have to agree with what I saw this morning, Walmart should take most of the blame for the death.

It will do nothing but cause trouble and in sad cases like this, death and injury. I hope Wal-Mart loses a lot of money over this. Maybe they will learn.
November 28, 200817 yr What a bunch of idiots. Hopefully the people responsible for this tragic loss are found and dealt with.

We drove by Wal-Mart in Ft Wright and the parking lot didn't look over flowing about 9:30am this morning. Of course, I didn't even try to shop there either. I refuse to stand in line for a store to open.
November 28, 200817 yr Yeah, my mom and also my wife used to go out and stand in the cold for a few hours every year on black friday. One year, my wife got into a shoving match with a woman over a sweat shirt. My wife had it, the other gal wanted it and tried to take it from her. When my wife would not let go, the other gal pushed her to the ground. Almost started a big ol' cat fight. However, my wife ended up with the sweater after all. Funny thing is, I can't remember ever wearing the darn thing and it still is hanging in the closet. After all that stuff, the past few years she has shopped online in the comfort and safety of our home. Best way if you ask me.
November 29, 200817 yr This is tragic, from what I know Wal-Mart is giving police any video they need to try and ID these people.
