From what my Moeller buddies tell me, the reason Crable is no longer coaching at Moeller had nothing to do with the W/L or X and O side of it. If Brossart is not back at Cov Cath next year I don't think it will be because of what has happened on the field this year.

 

If he does return (which I think he will) he does need to upgrade his coaching staff, especially at D coordinator. It would probably also be beneficial to bring in an experienced O coordinator instead of him handling this.

Most definitely, which makes it even more of a challenge for CCH if they don't get a high profile coach right away.

I agree. But for the record, this thread was not started by a CCH poster.

I think to much of this is being put on this guy. The reality just might be CCH does not have the talent level it has enjoyed in the past.

Brossart does not fit at CCH. It will be a shame if he is not replaced by someone more capable of doing the job, and someone who can handle the kids better.

Whoever is the coach next year, and the next couple years will have the big benefit that was started this year with the middle school program which was started this year. Probably not much benefit next year, but the years after that should see it.

Nothing to do with bragging rights. A lot of the younger kids, who would have originally attended CCH, are now picking Beechwood to attend instead. And some of the underclassmen, from what I understand, may be leaving CCH and heading to Beechwood if indeed changes aren't made. That's why they are benefitting from CCH being down and having internal problems with the coaching staff.

The recent events that transpired in the locker room, with minimal punishment from the administration, are reason enough for me to want Brossart AND Rowe OUT. As a former student with a sibling at the school and another sibling who will be a CCH football player, it's disturbing and scary.

I don't think there is any impact on this year's Beechwood varsity from a player who considered attending CCH. I don't know that I would say a lot of younger kids are attending Beechwood over CCH either, but there are maybe 1 or 2 Beechwood freshmen that I thought might go to CCH who are at Beechwood. I do agree that this could happen more in the future if both programs continue on their recent and current paths.

 

As to the middle school program someone mentioned, I see that as having virtually no impact other than trying to make sure players don't leave the Catholic schools for a public school. The Spartans have been so good for so long that there is little football gain for CCH from a middle school program. I consider that more of a recruiting tool than anything else.

 

CCH played the toughest schedule in its history so more losses this year were almost to be accepted. I do think CCH fans expected more from this team though so that falls on the coach and administration. I would not be excited about Crable if I were a CCH fan.

Their starting QB Isler broke his fibula against Beechwood in week 5 I believe which kept him out until week 1 of the playoffs.

If I were Mr. Rowe I would ask myself the following questions about keeping or replacing Coach Brossart!

 

Has he been a good role model for the students of the school and the players on the team?

 

Since he has been at CovCath have the players improved not only as football players but as students?

 

Has he taught the students to be gracious winners and good losers?

 

Has he worked to maintain/improve the image of CovCath in the community or on a state wide level?

 

Have the players had fun while being on his team?

 

Will they because of Coach Brossart be better men, fathers, husbands, or community leaders due to what he has taught them?

 

Has he and his coaching staff deflected criticisms away from his players and toward themselves instead and thus protecting the kids?

 

Have the players become better Catholics/Christians because of Coach Brossart?

 

These are the question I would ask of myself if I were Mr. Rowe about replacing or keeping Coach Brossart!
