Playing in this type of weather is OK, the blood is flowing, but being a bench warmer is an oxymoron this time of year.

I know there is a rule in some school districts that if you don't have school, you don't play ANY games (in any sports) that same day.

 

There were a lot of closings this morning on the news, could this effect any games tonight?

3-4 inches on the ground in Belfry...

There must have been a good band come through Belfry if there is that much on the ground, because there is not even an inch in Pikeville area. Will the Pirates take the field tonight or will this will be postponed? I for one hope they play the game...

Coldest game ever has to be when Boyle County traveled to Pudacah Tilghman about 4-5 years ago. Anybody who was there knows what I'm talking about. Was there anyone who attended that game?

 

 

WOW was it cold that night!!!! Today we compare all games to that 2003 cold November night in Paducah. "It's not Paducah Tilghman Cold"

With the football season lasting a week longer this is going to become a more prevelant occurance (although there would be football this week regardless).

Have my wool socks and cap ready. Let's play football!

Probably affects the passing teams most...coaches won't (and can't, really) admit publicly that it affects things, but anybody who says bitter cold doesn't make it harder to pass the football accurately and to catch it is denying reality.

 

Let's see what happens with the Elizabethtowns and Williamsburgs tonight...

We have no snow up here. The sun is shining in a blue sky.

 

But somebody broke the thermostat; so it's going to be coooooooooooold!!!

No snow here in metro Louisville, either. Snowed last night, but nothing stuck.

That 02 State Finals was awfully cold and it was in the middle of the day. That was pretty dang cold that game. I remember seeing all of the piles of snow piled up along the wall at old Cardinal Stadium from the big snow the 2 days before.

 

That was the coldest game I ever reffed. The toilets in the official's dressing room were frozen solid. Thankfully, the livestock stalls were nearby and were nicer anyway. Can't say I miss the Fairgrounds.

 

A close second was the 2003 semifinal between E-town and Owensboro Catholic. A two-foot snow drift accumulated in my ear that night. Thank God for the hot burgoo from Moonlight Bar-B-Q!

I don't think it even snowed up here.
