I could see him remaining in Ohio until he can retire than coming back to KY...

 

Unless there's a program out there with a "knock-your-socks-off" compensation package, I'd say this is the safe bet.

You write this as if they need experience; as if they don't already have one of if not the best coaching staffs in the state.

Not always about money...

 

I have known him since I was a little kid. He went to school with my siblings and is a class-act. I am not sure what's going on over there or why he'd want to abruptly leave a program that he has spent 16 years building, unless there was somewhere that had some money waiting for him.

 

Sorry folks but after 20+ years of coaching and being an assistant, it Does become about the money. I wouldn't be surprised to see Scott HS offer him a package that he couldn't refuse. Just a hunch, but I am guessing it will be a NKY school and we may all be shocked by it, like Bishop Brossart or something.

That's a thought. What's the word on Thomas More or any of the other local programs? Maybe he is going to UC to be an assistant. Who knows, good luck Kevin.

This would be very bad news for HHS if Siple were to take that job. I could see him bringing the OH football mentallity to CovCath. Sounds like a familar scenario just a short few yrs ago.

Ditto. I also got the impression that the parents could be a real pain up there. (But I'm also getting the impression that this is how it is no matter where you go these days.)

He was the head coach at Indian Hill for 15 years so you never know. I wouldn't think money would be a factor.

 

What are the chances he ends up back at Highlands or Beechwood as an assistant? That's where he originally started back in the 80's and early 90's but wouldn't being an assistant be an even bigger pay cut than being the HC at a different school?

 

I find it interesting that he feels change is good, both for the program and for the coach. That to me says more about the man than his record, putting the kids first, his asperrations second. Food for thought.
