I voted no, but I feel some explanation is needed. I don't think God intends for either one to be President. God just gives us the free will to decide for ourselves. God knows what we will pick but the beauty of free will is he lets us do it anyway.

Someone educate me a little. My daughter was telling me about Revelations and the beginning of the rapture. What does it say about who would be the new leader?

 

First, the word Rapture is not mentioned in the Bible and is not talked about in REvelations.

 

It says the Antichrist will rise quickly out of a sea of turmoil and that he will deceive and mislead people. He will claim himself as God/Savior/Messiah.

Scripture tells me that there is no civil authority but that which is appointed by God. Therefore, my answer to the question is "yes."

I don't believe in pre-destination which is what I feel like you're asking, so I voted no. What I'm saying is, I don't believe God put Barack Obama on Earth so that he could be president of the United States. I feel he put him here just as he did everyone else to live a life according to his will. What each of us makes of that life is up to us.

That's every bit as ridiculous as the people who over the last eight years said that GWB was "sent from God."

God doesn't get into politics, the politicians are the ones who try to bring god into it though.

 

Now this is a little off topic but I saw that Obama and the rest of the democrats tried to make the Democratic Convention a very religious event. Well if they believe in God and his word so much, why is that they believe in gay marriage, etc? Just trying to bring up a point because there is contradiction here...

Now I don't agree with Obama and am not happy with him being elected, HOWEVER I really do not like the association of Obama as the anti-christ.

Nothing in the bible - in Revelation or elsewhere - describes the anti-Christ as being "a man, in his 40's, of Muslim descent." In fact, since the book of Revelation was complete by the end of the second century, but the religion of Islam wasn't founded until about 400 years later, the notion that Revelation would have mentioned a "Muslim" at all is rather far-fetched. (And even if it did, it couldn't be construed as a reference to Barack Obama, since Senator Obama Isn't a Muslim.)

We cannot question God, thats why he is God. Obama's mom could have chosen not to have him, did God let him be born? He is our creator and can do anything he chooses. Once a man is king he can still mess up, he is a man.

 

Obama is not the Anti Christ. He is a Christian. Paul talks about a "man of Sin" a person who denies Christ.

 

In Revelation Jesus will defeat Satan. The word antichrist isn't used, but Dragon/beasts/false prophets.
