While he should have been a little more tactful in his comments, if it were Randall Cobb making the comments, he would be called "a leader calling out his team".

 

I'm not a huge Hartline fan. I think Cobb gives them a better chance to move the football because it allows Joker to call plays that the team worked on with Pulley at QB in practice. But Cobb hasn't set the world on fire as a quarterback.

 

I just can't understand how an SEC team with a full compliment of schollys can be so woefully thin at receiver.

I wouldn't say they're thin at receiver but none of them have any experience.

Wow! I cant believe he said that. Although some of it may be true, you never publicly criticize your teammates. He may be a short timer!!

I be honest I have never seen someone get praised before for what Hartline just said. Yeah people get praise sometimes for calling out teammates and saying we all need to step up. But never really seen someone say the reason I have sucked is because my teammates aren't doing anything. I don't care who the person is, when someone says something like he did, they are not going to get praise for it...So if Randal Cobb said exactly what he said, then I don't think you see anyone praising him for it.

 

What Hartline did was put all the blame on his teammates, for why he is struggling...

I heard him make these comments on the news, and couldn't believe it. He made it sound like he was having a tremendous season, and that his teammates lack of performance was the only thing that cost him his job. This confirms exactly what a couple of my friends that are VERY close to the team told me before the season. They said that no one on the team liked Hartline that he was way too cocky and condescending to his teammates. I'd say he's gone as soon as the semester is over.

Here is a key point. Does Cobb use different teammates? Next time Hartline gets in the game lets hope the linemen dont forget to block on the first play.

To me the only question left is will the coaching staff punish Hartline for these comments. I think they risk losing their team if they dont.

These comments might give us a little insight as to why things have gone a little off the tracks in the past few games, as well.

He wouldnt be getting benched if the players around him were at fault. If that's the case just think how good Cobb must really be to make those players better!! I am with everyone else in saying that I was behind Hartline form the day Pulley was dismissed, but you dont get back on the field making comments like this! It's hard to get guys to play for you when you do things to make them bad!
