I think instead of blaming his shortcomings on what his teammates have not done, I think it would be more accurate to say that the only plays which have kept him starting at QB have been the resut of his teammates doing something spectacular. (i.e. Cobb's catches vs. Arkansas, Ford getting free on a busted coverage vs. Alabama and Dicky's YAC on the screen for the other TD, great plays by the defense to put points on the board vs. So. Carolina and UL, etc)

Lets be honest about your use of spectacular plays. Cobb was wide open on the two passes he caught against Arkansas. Granted he ran a good route the first grab but it was a routine catch for any other team who isnt having problems we are. Ford ran a simple route which he happend to be open due to loose coverage by Alabama who was simply trying to drain out the clock on defense. Not trying to be confortationly but lets be realistic.

Ok Brooks wont be forced to retire but I believe he will go ahead and do it. Joker has already been named to replace him and after taking heat all season long for starting Hartline and this ending up the way it has I think after the season Brooks will reflect back and decide he has had enough. He already has fussed about the fans booing Hartline and he didnt like it when most fans left before the Arkansas game was over. Just my opinion folks.

A chance at 3 back to back to back bowl wins will not leave Brooks to retire, especially since everyone is onto Joker latley about his play calling. Brooks will be around 2-3 more years IMO. I mean they've already named their future head coach at Penn State and FSU, but I don't see Paterno or Bowden leaving yet and that was 6-7 years ago they naemd them.

About the Hartline situation, it was a crappy thing to say about your teammates, but I feel this thread is just a vent session for unhappy fans that have never liked Hartline anyway. I mean he is still just 20 years old, can we not condemn him just yet. Allow him to apologize to his teammates in private and sort this out and maybe he can progress and get back on the field, no need to ship him to Akron already. This just irks me as UK fans give up on thier own so quickly and want them out, it is a bad reflection of our program. I've like Hartline from the beginning but these comments were out of line, let's let the coaching staff take action and I'm sure Hartline will learn a lesson from this, but forcing him to another school and benching him all season are just way to dramatic and out of line. He has taken 90% of the snaps this season and knows our offense very well. Think of the the full scale of things first.

Even if this is true, it was a moronic statement, and I feel that I just lost some money on a bet about Hartline's playing time this upcoming game. It's no secret that UK's WR choices leave a lot to be desired, but you never, NEVER say what he said....Hartline's demise at QB is coming NOW!!!

Exactly!!! These people need to realize that were not very good with him and were not going to be much better without him this year. We got to face it but hopefully can get two more wins and get back to another bowl

I believe I read in the Sporting News that Bowden will probably hang it up after this year.
