I thought about starting a thread this morning asking where all the people were who were blaming Bush for the high gas/oil prices.

I don't blame Bush for the high gas prices anymore than I blamed Carter for all the inflation mess that skyrocketed in the late 70's and early 80's.

For the record, the average gas price in 2000 in the LA area was $1.60.

It's $2.78 today (not a yearly average but I can imagine the yearly average probably in the mid $3 range).

Just because the prices have gone down right now they went pretty high to make us feel good about where they are now. :thumb:

I know what they'll tell you. He ruined the economy and that's why gas/oil prices have dropped.

$1.99 today in Cincinnati, and expected to fall further.

Of course it's the impending election of Obama that has caused gas prices to drop in spite of that tyrant Bush.

Not to mention the reason they're dropping...because the whole world has gone broke.

Maybe that was the plan...destroy the economy to make gas cheaper.

Low gas prices are tied in with lower demand. I don't give credit to Bush for them, but I don't blame him for the high gas prices either

Translation - Fear of Obama election.

Let's hope folks stay afraid - I can actually afford to fill up my tank today.:thumb:

Didn't prices dip significantly just before the 2006 elections?

I may be wrong, but I don't remember them dipping this significantly. This is like a 50% decrease

Funny how it works, isn't it?

I think it's also a "distraction" to the other struggles of the economy.

Let's hope the prices keep getting lower. I don't care who's responsible for making them lower, as long as they stay that way.
