October 30, 200817 yr Unfortunately, low gas prices will take the pressure off Congressional Democrats to open up more American oil reserves to drilling. Four years from now we will still be hearing liberals claiming that new drilling would not put additional oil on the market for 10 years. October 31, 200817 yr I know what they'll tell you. He ruined the economy and that's why gas/oil prices have dropped. Spending 12 billion a month in Iraq doesn't help our economy. Nor does letting wall street run wild. He may not have caused the economy collapse, but he surely didn't prevent it. His so called "booster shot" of a stimulus package didn't fix anything.

November 1, 200817 yr Last week, I heard oil countries say they are practically losing money at current declining oil prices. Today I heard gas companies claim that they are close to losing money at current gas prices. Who do these idiots think we are? Sure they won't make they record profits they are making lately, but they weren't exactly suffering over the last 100 years. Losing money? just heard that one of them had a record quarter yet again.

I don't give credit to Bush for them, but I don't blame him for the high gas prices either :thumb::thumb: I always said that Bush wasn't the cause for the high gas prices. An increase in foreign oil demand is the main reason for the high prices.
November 1, 200817 yr Losing money? just heard that one of them had a record quarter yet again.The profits for last quarter were based on third quarter oil prices - not current prices.
November 1, 200817 yr The dog continues to wag.... I put NOTHING past the politicians. Including influencing gas prices a week before the election. No trust in the people or the process.... it's kind of sad.
