The biggest way I think Cobb helps is on those 3rd and 5 and 3rd and 6 plays. Now you not only have to respect the 3 yard slant but also a quarterback who can run for the first down.

So do you think UK should change their offense in the future for a big playmaker like Randall Cobb?

They'd be in better shape if it was Randal "Pink" Floyd taking over... :D

I wouldnt make any major changes. Actually theres a reason I work in a distribution center and not a college coach. The headsets make me look fat. Seriously I was just saying Cobb has a chance to run for the first on broken plays, which helps.

Excellent:thumb:

Now we don't have to resort to a screen pass on every third down we face. Also, we may actually attempt to pass the ball on first or second down. Let Cobb drop back and if nothing is there, at least the guy is a threat to take off.

I don't know how much this helps the offense. Cobb is obviously the better choice at QB. How much better is yet to be determined. We still may not win another game this season, I'll take my chances with Cobb on that one though.

Thank God!

LOL........I said the same thing and then read your post.

I think you do what's best for your team this year and if Cobb is better than Hartline he should be the starter. With that being said, Cobb will be a Wr next season, so he will lose valuable playing time at the position he will play for the next 3 years.

And playing QB can also have a lot of value down the road when a guy goes back to WR...

We blame Hartline for not teaching him the offense better.

Like running the option?

He's already the best WR on the team, and he's played 2/3 of the season there. Playing 1/3 at QB isn't going to be some huge setback.
