October 19, 200818 yr I'll take 5-2. The sad thing is how close were are to be 6-1 or even 7-0. The bad news is the toughness of our remaining schedule. The good news is that we have 5 chances to win a single game and make it to a bowl game :thumb: Well, even though six wins make you bowl eligible, it normally takes seven wins to get an invite. I think South Carolina was shut out of a bowl game last year with six wins.

October 19, 200818 yr Okay guys, I turned this one off at the beginning of the 4th and took the lady out to get something to eat. I figured we were done. Can someone please give me a short run down of what happened in the 4th quarter that gave UK the win ? Also, why was a UK player running after Bobby P. ? Why didn't Brooks and Coach P. shake hands after the game ?

October 19, 200818 yr I took a walk with 5 minutes left in the game, I can't belive they won this game. Please add some details.
October 19, 200818 yr 30,000 potential sold bowl tickets makes a 6 - 6 UK team unlikely to be left home during bowl season. Very true. They bring the crowds with them and that is what the bowl games want, ... to fill the seats with fans. I would feel MUCH better about 7 wins, ... but 6 would probably get UK a bowl, .. no guarantee, but a good possibility. 7 wins is a definite bowl bid for the Cats.
October 19, 200818 yr Gotta give the Cats credit in this one. The defense was unbeilable in the 2nd half. I don't know the time of possession at this point, but I'd say the D was on the field for an unbelievable amount of time. Get the ball in the hands of play-makers. GO CATS! I think Tom Leach said UK had the ball for just over 6:00 the entire second half. Brooks commented dryly "That's ball control at its best." Kentucky scored on most of their possessions in the second half, but just didn't have many of them. I really liked Cobb wearing #12 in honor of Dicky tonight. He did Lyons proud with that performance. 2 TD catches, a crucial punt return and a key block on the TD pass from Hartline to Smith that sprung him. This kid is really an impact player as a true freshman! What about that stiff arm from Alfonso on the 72 yard TD reception. My oh my!
October 19, 200818 yr While I agree, it was only a 13 or 14 yard return...Nothing special. Why put one of your few play makers left more in danger by letting him return kicks? Just not something I would do... Many times, it seems like when you start changing things to avoid injury, bad things happen. Fire every bullet you have until they are gone then put on the bayonets!!:thumb:

Ford let that one bounce up and hit him which was a huge mistake, Lyons is out, Locke was hurt and they needed something good to happen. I am with you. When you are down, fire with every bullet you have! Great point!
October 19, 200818 yr The ESPN Game Day crew just gave Hartline a helmet sticker. Hopefully tonight's game gave him some much needed confidence (especially throwing the long ball). Having Cobb as a regular receiver will give Hartline at least one reliable target, something that Hartline hasn't had all season. I admit that Kentucky hasn't taken advantage of every situation this season, but we are 5-2 and lost 2 SEC games by a total of 10 points, one of them to the #2 team in the country. There was a time in the not to distant past that UK's fanbase would be overjoyed by this. Just like the team, the fans need to stay positive!
October 19, 200818 yr All in all a great win for the program. Gives all something to talk about in October.
October 19, 200818 yr IMO--Kentucky played more relaxed when it looked like it was over and they had nothing to lose. Passes began going down the field and were caught. Also, I think the fans leaving motivated them to make something happen. We stayed till the end and it was well worth it. If you had just been listening inside the stadium, you would have never known anyone left. The last 4 minutes were the best....and our house was rockin! Go CATS!!!
