October 19, 200818 yr I have wondered if Joker and Coach Brooks are seeing eye to eye over what to do offensively this season. Joker was not afraid to open up the offense the past two years when Andre was running the show. Either Joker has NO confidence in Hartline throwing the ball downfield, and thus calls VERY conservative plays. Or, Brooks has increased his input on what plays are called. Just my $.02.

I doubt that Brooks is controlling what Joker is calling, it's more of having a QB who has little to no versatility and isn't able to do a lot with the ball.
October 20, 200818 yr How is that a spin? The first 55 minutes of this game was the ugliest UK football that I have seen since the LSU road game 2 years ago. The "to enjoy Homecoming" part is what I was referring to. You really think that's why they left?
October 20, 200818 yr The "to enjoy Homecoming" part is what I was referring to. You really think that's why they left? That's why I would've left. I've been to many Morehead State Homecomings and I can't describe the MSU football uniforms to you. :sssh:
October 20, 200818 yr I was at the game and left with about 5 minutes left to play... Arkansas had the ball... UK down by 13... I was cold and had a long drive back to the house. Got to my car and turned on the radio... I could not believe it. We were all honking the horns on Waller when UK scored to tie up the game. I learned my lesson... never again unless I am at a Bengals game! Then of course a 4th Qtr. Bengal comeback would never happen. Congrats Blue!
October 20, 200818 yr There has been alot of people critical of Hartline. Does anyone remember Woodson's Sophomore year? I think Hartline has had his good moments and his bad moments this year. Glad to see him find a receiver that could get open and then CATCH the football. Now if only Dicky were healthy. That would have made a nice one two punch. Great win by the cats and we need to keep the momentum up going into the next 5 games.
October 20, 200818 yr I think Joker will be a very good head coach. Heck we may only have a kid come along every 3 or 4 years that can help UK, but Joker was making visits before we had anyone. That helped alot in their recruitment of EJ Fields. Now we have another one that can help and UK has already established a relationship with the school, so it makes it much easier. I would say alot of schools that never saw UK coaches have since Brooks took over. Joker has had to scale back the play calling this year, but we'll be fine.
October 20, 200818 yr Well I got lucky that I had to wait on my friend and his family before I could leave this one so I managed to be around when the comeback occurred. Was disheartened at times with how poor this team exectues on offense. However, I was given some hope by the final two drives. Hartline this year has at times seemed to be aiming his throws instead of stepping up and simply tossing the ball with confidence. Those final two TD passes were good throws where he appeared to have confidence and simply was making the right play. If the kid can start to play with some confidence I think he could pan out to at least be an adept QB. With our defense keeping us in games, if our offense can even be semi productive I think we can win two more games this year. It was said in preseason, and I still believe it, Randall Cobb is something special. The kid simply knows how to make plays happen. Gonna love having him around the next few years.

October 20, 200818 yr With bowls, traveling is important but so is quality of the teams. Ole Miss hasn't been to a bowl since 2003 so their fans will travel since it's been so long. Tennessee fans always travel so if they must up 6-6 they will be a good choice. Auburn fans will travel, they are a tradition rich school. But I don't think any of it will matter. The SEC has 9 guaranteed bowl games. With Alabama undefeated if they can run the table until the SEC title game then the SEC will get 2 BCS bids thus giving the SEC 10 bowl teams and the 2 sitting home would be Miss. State and Arkansas. Also if Bama looses one before Atlanta then a Florida win in the SEC title game would put them in the national title and a 2 loss UGA or Bama team or possibly a 1 or 2 loss LSU team will be in the BCS. The way it works the SEC won't have more than 10 eligible bowl teams and there is a good chance the SEC will have 10 guaranteed bowl spots, so 6-6 is probably enough.

Given the remaining schedules I posted a few days ago, I don't think there's any way that the SEC has 10 bowl-eligible teams. Some of those teams have a lot of work to do against really stiff competition. If UK gets to 6 wins, they'll make a bowl game. I would bet everything I have on it.
October 20, 200818 yr I was there! Til the end! My husband and I thought about leaving, but decided against it. I can't tell you the feeling that I had..but when they scored the first touchdown, I knew they were going to do it. I guess just the change in momentum, I don't know. It was awesome! I was fortunate enough to be there last year at the LSU game. I have to admit, this was possibly equally as exciting. The fans that stayed were great! It was so loud! You would have never known that half the stadium was gone! We were one section over from the Arkansas section. We got to chant "Bobby, Bobby, Bobby" back to their fans at the end, which was hilarious! The DEFENSE needs to be praised over and over again! They were, I'm sure, completely worn out by the end, but those last couple of series, they looked like it was the beginning of the game! They really played an excellent game! Here's hoping that this will be a momentum changer for the season, and a boost of confidence for Hartline!

I'll agree with you on Ole Miss, but 6-6 at Tennessee or Auburn gets coaches fired, not fans excited about going to a mediocre bowl. A 6-6 KY will travel much better than a 6-6 Tennessee or Auburn. I say 6 wins gets us in a bowl game.
October 22, 200818 yr Everybody I was with left. I told them I would get a cab before I would walk out. I went down and sit on the very front row in a nice reserved seat with a back on it:) I stayed the whole time. I've been going to UK games for around 25 years and that is one of the few games I ever remember that they played bad but won it in the end like that. It was GREAT! I tailgated with a bunch of old people I didn't know until about 1:45 at Commonwealth. Some old dude road out to the hockey game on a moped with pedals. He was fired up! Priceless!
