October 12, 200817 yr Well its interesting to me. The Big 12 has a lot of high-powered offenses and they are a lot of fun to watch. I went back and forth today between the UK game and Texas/Oklahoma. It was a very entertaining ball game. The SEC on the other hand has a lot of very good defenses. So its tough to really decide one way or the other on that front. Also another way of looking at it is with rankings the Big 12 has several teams ranked very high and at this point maybe a little stronger at the top. But I would argue that 1-12 the SEC is stronger. I can see each conference having a case.

October 12, 200817 yr Which conference is better is up for debate but one thing is fact. If they continue to beat each other up the way that they have, we could be looking at a Penn St/USC BCS title game.

If you guys watch the Florida game tonight and think that there is another team that can match what they have then your crazy. I will make a prediction and say that Florida will win the Natl. championship this year.

I'm still trying to figure out how they lost to Mississippi.
October 12, 200817 yr The gap is narrow, but the SEC just doesn't have 2 teams as bad as Texas A&M or Iowa St. Incidentally, I think head-to-head the best offensive Big 12 teams would overwhelm the defenses of the best SEC teams. After watching the performance of some of these SEC defenses the past few weeks, som of that "best defense" stuff is an illusion.

Top to bottom I think it is the SEC. Big 12 is going through a nice run of QB's. Fun watching games in these conferences...you just get a different feel watching games in these conferences...

Fun watching games in these conferences...you just get a different feel watching games in these conferences... I've watched Baylor twice this year and they're a much-improved team. Robert Griffen is the best freshmen in the country (including those SEC WR's) and might be a star on a better team.
October 12, 200817 yr Top to Bottom the SEC is by far stronger. Had Missouri and Oklahoma won convincingly yesterday I would give the Big 12 the edge as the best currently, but what yesterday proved is the same thing that has been the Big 12's problem for the past few years, a complete and utter lack of defense. I am just not convinced that the Big 12 schools have evolved from the Oklahoma schools who have gotten embarassed in the BCS games the past few years.

Florida had a good footbal game yesterday, however they are just like any othre team that can have a good week or bad week. We can't forget they lost to Ole Miss just 2 weeks ago. With one game (over LSU) we can't hand them the National Title I do give Florida the edge as there schedule is not that strong coming down the stretch. They'll beat UK, SC and The Ciradel at home, and they'll beat Florida St. on the road. The only game they really have a challenge is the Georgia game. This is a big rivalry on a neutral field. Florida has the uperhand on the National Title game with this remaining schedule.
