KY Yearbook top Players in the 10th Region

Featured Replies

Mason County will reload, but Clark County is already LOADED.

They have talent and depth, and have a lot more than just Stenzel and Zollo,

Purvis and Rodgers are going to be dominating sophomores.

I don't have to see the train to know its coming.

Clark County wins the 10th this year

Agree with Shooter and I know this makes Gold Sunrise happy. I saw all those Clark County sophomores play AAU ball this summer (not counting Zollo who was out on crutches) and what a group of sophomores with talent. If there is a better sophomore group than this than bring them on. They have five super sophs and then add in Williams, Hatton, and the transfer guard and what a blend. The good thing is that they are no longer freshman (bad news for opponents). GRC wins the 10th and makes plenty of noise in Rupp.

I agree and so do college coaches. Travis Purvis has already been offered a scholarship by Morehead State, and he did not start last year. He has gown to 6'7 and had a great summer with AAU.....where alot of players get noticed.

The transfer guard is Christian Brewer, I have been told he can shoot lights out. Yes I am really looking forward to basketball season this year.:thumb:

Let's give the guy a break. As a sportswriter, you couldn't pay me enough to write one of these things with the list format because you're never going to please anybody.

Sure, you can load the list up with players from Mason and Clark and just as many people would be on here killing the guy for ignoring the small schools. Sure, he could have put Clark #1 and just as many people would be hammering him for putting the defending state champs second in their own region behind a team they beat by 17 and 23 last year. And unless you were driving up to Greenfield McClain all season last year, Zollo is still an unknown to most of us.

I guess what I'm basically saying is that there are obviously more than 10 quality players in the 10th region, so it's impossible to put together a list of 10 without shorting somebody. And seriously, who really cares whether your team is first or second or tenth in the opinion of one writer in October?

Good point. It's all just talk at this stage.

And if you made a list of the top 100 players in the region, someone would be complaining.

Well we could always go back and talk about where the region is going to be held.....

The biggest shock is Middleton being number one. He might not be the best player on his team IMO. Zollo is a top 50 in the country in his class. He is undoubtebly number one in the 10th. And while Im at it, Clark Co. should also undoubtedly be preseason number one, and probably top five in the state. By the way, is Hatton the kid that can shoot? Just trying to put a name with a face.

Again, have you seen all of these boys play? I think the ratings are OK but Hatton should be in the top 10 of the region.

Please don't :D:sssh:

Scott should be ranked ahead of Campbell though. Scott returns more than Campbell County and has a lot of depth too. Thats my only correction. And I believe GRC should be ranked ahead of Mason.

Now before you people jump on me for saying GRC should be ahead of Mason, polls and rankings should be based on what each individual team has lost and is returning.

In this case, Mason did lose a lot but they do return some players. GRC, on the other hand, returns virtually everybody and they did very well with the group last year. With a year of experience under their belt they should me, IMO, the top ranked team especially with the addition of Zollo.

Come on Pressrow this is the projected order of finish for the UPCOMING season! You don't have Darius Miller any longer and you need to just let it go. We all know you won last years state tourney but that was then this is now let's move on! The good part is you will have the next three years to beat these guys at GRC. So you should get to know them REAL well!:D:D:ylsuper:

The 2008 State Champs will be just fine!

Yes, his name is Robert Hatton. GRC got another great outside shooter to transfer in. His name is Christian Brewer. I hear he's light's out from outside. Sounds like a good tandem of shooters at GRC!!!:dancingpa
