Did anyone attend the X-Trinity luncheon at the Galt House? Great turnout for a great cause(catholic education foundation). Beatty gave a moving talk about his greatest memory from the rivalry being in 03 when his players carried his sick Dad onto the field after beating X. Glaser had the funniest memory-- Coach Lampley being run over by one of his own players. Beatty also commented that after watching CincyX and Don Bosco play(X beat Bosco, and Bosco just beat #9 De LaSalle) he thinks Lou.X and Trintiy are both deserving of being nationally ranked.

 

I echo that. This brainchild was born 90 days ago. Came to fruition in that time. No brainer IMHO. With these two schools --whisper about "an axe throwing contest" in an alley at 2 am and all sorts of folks would show up. Will now hopefully be an annual event. Jon Asher did a great job as MC. NFL Films all over the place. To be shown Nationally on 11/8 - this segment.

 

Rocks will have their work cut out. True test. Concur about the assesment of X's O -- unlike any I have seen in quite some time. Most impressive.

The center broke a bone on the outside edge of his foot and is out at "least three weeks". Ironically, Trinity lost their starting center to injury after the Cincy St. X game last year and this young man became the starter. Does this spell doom for the Rocks? I don't think so. We shall see. The freshmen game today kicks off at 5:30PM. That should be an excellent game.

.... I do think these two schools are as good as they are because of each other and I hope the day never comes when one loses the luster it has. I'm proud of several things in my life, two of the main ones are in my BGP name.

After reading two good articles on Whiting and the Brutchers triplets, I think this game will come down to desire. Who wants it the most? Trinity gets my pick just because it's been a long time not beating X during regular season. But, on the flip side, this may not bold well come the playoffs for the Rocks. Rocks by 14 points

I really don't know what to think about who will win this game. X by now is usually firing on all cylinders, and they are doing more than that right now. I look for X to move the ball pretty well, though I am hoping that our defense makes them have some long methodical drives, as they would be more likely to make an error then. I am, as usual, very, very concerned about this game.

I think it is safe to say that at this point of the season this St.X team is the highest scoring team in school history with an average of 56 points a game. The defense is not too shabby either giving up only 3.2/game.

I had a source tell me last night that there are hints of too much confidence (by the players) in the T locker room. IF true, that would be a bad thing for Trinity on Friday, but maybe a trip back to planet earth for the football gods would behoove them in the ultimate quest for 19.
