Question: Does anyone know if and when this game will be replayed on t.v.? That channel usually plays it more than once during the week.

Thanks in advance, I'll check back later.

I don’t think so. Russell is too soft and out of condition this year. The first team good enough to take the devils to the second half will win – but that’s just my opinion.

Ah Graybeard I am reminded of a line in Star Wars when Luke finally blows up a TIE fighter as he and Han Solo attempt to escape the Death Escape and he screams "I got one!" Han Solo the experienced smuggler responds "Great job, just don't get cocky kid."

Other than Mason Co no one else in Russell's district is that good. If they can get through the District playoffs their draw usually is pretty good until they have to go to Belfry. So yeah- the way their district is and the way the brackets are set up they can still go pretty far.

And while Russell may have gotten pushed around last night doesn't mean they will get pushed around every game. I mean I was at Putnam a couple weeks ago and watched Raceland push Ashland all over the field. The Tomcats I watched last night were NOT the Tomcats I saw a few weeks ago. And that's not all because Russell played a bad game. So Ashland has proved to me that teams can change. When you have a Coach like Ivan McGlone I don't expect Russell to be pushed around very often for the remainder of the season.

All that said this Halloween will be one game no one should miss. :thumb:

I'm thinking about letting HCT pick some stocks for me his predictions have been so hot. What do you think?

The hotdog stand at Ram stadium next friday night.

Ouch!:creepy: :scared:The Rams still better come ready to play against the Devils.

Coach Kidwell may get a few basketball players early this year unless the Devils can rebound from this loss.

Ummm. Dont think so.

I don't think it's time to push the panic button in Red Devil Land just yet. I remember during my Sophmore year at Russell we started out 2-0, but then lost the next three. Coming off a 5-6 season the previous year, the fans wanted to hit the panic button, but coach McGlone and our coaches did what they did best, & that was make ajustments & coached us up & got us back on track. We ended up winning six in a row before losing to Fort Thomas Highlands in the state semi-finals, who then won the AAA State Championship the next week. We finished 8-4.

My point is this: Russell may not be near as strong as in the recent past season(s), but that doesn't mean that they won't make ajustments & improve. They will recover & be fine.

I wouldn't want to be next on their schedule after this loss.

:thumb: I agree.

I do not think Raceland will have an easy win against Russell not even close but as we have said time after time. One ballgame at a time. All I have heard for the last couple of years is Russell cant be beat by any team around this little area. Ok now that that has been proven wrong. Lets get down to buisness and make sure Eastern Kentucky football is well represented all the way through.

I have been a Coach Hart hater but I am going to give him credit for the way he out coached McGlone last night.

I agree that you play in an easy district. :bunny:

But the playoffs are back to the old format this year. None of us replay our own district, rather we get matched up with the other side of our region. Russell will not be protected with 2 easy playoff games from their own district. Therefore they stand a much greater chance of meeting someone good sooner.

Ah Graybeard ... don't get cocky kid."

It may not be me that is cocky. Ashland plays in a very tough district. I know how difficult our path is.

Some Russell fans don't seem to realize how over-rated their team was and what that means for their post-season.

I think Simon Kenton and Raceland will be non-district challenges for the devils.

I thank that Russell will be OK. People there season is not over, they lose one game and theres people saying there going to lose three or four games in the regular season and be a #2 seed in the district playoffs. If Russell would have won this game there would'nt have been 40 hits on this thread. People Ashland is a 5a school they are suppost to win this game. There a lot of people that loves it when Russell loses. It just don't happen that often, they are only a 3a school with a lot of pride and a couple of state rings not like Ashland with 9 or 10 championships. Russell is Russell if somebody beats them than there's a lot of talk.

It wouldn't be so bad if Russell supporters would think a little more realistically

( then hope for the best ) when the Russell may actually be down this year.

Or their fans (some, certainly not all) not put everyone else down while saying how the "Mighty Devils" are going to embarrass the other team and they imo show no respect for an opponet. That just may be why there are more post on this thread (other than the obvious rivalry game).

Great win for Ashland also congrats on win number 600 for this program good luck the rest of the year. Russell will bounch back McGlone is to good of a coach to let this distract the Devils.

Well said, both of you. :thumb:

Several Russell fans have been on here (posting in other school's threads) all through the spring and summer practices and so far this season saying how GREAT the devils are and how they won all the POWER LIFTING competitions and how much more superior their TALENT is and how great their COACHES are. My wise old father always said, “wait till you’ve hung up your sword to do your talking ” (for you Russell fans that means: wait till the fight is over to run your mouth).

Russell has a proud tradition and excellent coaches. But, the team is just not very good this year. The fans should have realized this sooner. Boyd Co. out-played you - you had a clue.

Hmmm, not very good this year, well that may be, I guess time will tell, but I do also remember Boyd Co outplaying us another year, I do believe we have a state championship ring from that year. And also if Boyd Co. had out played us they would have won the game and I don't believe that was the outcome. Russell does need some regrouping, but they will bounce back next Friday. Also, I don't beleive we are the only team "running our mouths". I personally have been told ALL year by several people how their team is going to KILL us this year. It happens and we all need to remember, ITs HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL, played by children, yes we enjoy watching it, but come on people, life goes on. Most of the time it is not about the game, or the kids who play it, but adults wishing they still could!:fire:
