Ashland 36 Russell 10

Featured Replies

How about them Tomcats? Under rated and not respected. These are NOT last year’s Cats!

If not for all the Ashland fumbles this one would have been a run away game.

Russell was not nearly as good as advertised. But they will still do well in their district, though they may not win it. I think the Mason Co. game will be very close. But, they will make the playoffs. Keep your heads up Devils.

I was surprised by how Russell quit at the end. Ashland has played hard in every game EVEN when loosing. I guess Russell is just not used to having to play a whole 4 quarter ball game and being behind. It looked like they were whipped on the scoreboard and in spirit.

A very nice win for the Tomcats. I just had a good feeling all week about this game. This group of Tomcats seems to be getting better every week. I'm looking forward to next week's Super 7, and see if Jeepman has changed his mind any about the Tomcats.

I have changed my mind about the Tomcats. They pushed Russell all over the field. Period. When you control the line of scrimmage you control the rest of the game. Ashland has a very good team.

Don't be one bit surprised if the Super 7 has Ashland rated over Raceland. I have seen them do stranger things when Ashland wins a big game.

I have said it before and I will say it again. This just might be the best thing that ever happened to Russell. Getting smacked in the mouth has a tendency to get your attention.

How many yards did Carter have tonight?

120 yards if I heard correct, in the post game interview he was laughing about tossing his groceries after receiving a hit to the sternum so I think he is fine.

I would be shocked, and disappointed if that were to happen.

Congrats Tomcats on a great win, o-line you guys did the job ,Russells defense was gasping for air,Tomcat defense great job stopping the Devils running game.

Mr. Hunter you have now been baptized by fire, good job leading the Tomcats ,cool as a cucumber . Proud of our Tomcats.

Sam did a fine job. He wasn't asked to do too much. He got outside the pocket on a busted play (or at least that's what it looked like) and lost a fumble, but redeemed himself with a 5yd run for a score later. He did a fine job. FWIW, Ashland didn't need to put it in the air. Sam simply had to get the snap, and hand it off, O-line had the line of scrimmage 3+ yds down the field each and every trip. Not many freshmen can say that in their first start of their high school careers that they spanked Russell by 26.

I think we all would. Lets hope they don't.

I Honestly beleave the Tomcats should build off its inside running game.:fight:

Alber is a weapon running inside and was punishing the Devils defense.

I knew Ashland would win by 14. But I couldn't believe they won that big. Great job Tomcats. You are putting it all together. Now go out in the Dist. and make some noise.

Congrats to the Tomcats. did not see this one coming. good to see them coming around, just wish it didn't come against Russell. Sat way up here in Butler Co. Ohio watching my kids' school, Edgewood, who also runs the wing t. The Cougars lost also, and I was listening to the Russell/Ashland game on the phone. Long night.

Congrats to Tomcats I was wrong Ashland is better than Russell. Russell played with no heart when they got down and the start of the second half did not help at all. That was the turning point of the game. After that Ashland stomped a mud hole in Russell. Russell will bounce back and Ashland will build on the win.

Good luck to both teams next week and I feel sorry for East Carter next week.

Sad thing is, I realized what I had done, went back and erased 3 and 4, then put them back as 3. Russell 4. Ashland again and submitted.

It actually took me 3 times to get that one corrected.

Careful, that sounds like some of my mistakes. You could be in worse shape than you think . :D
