I had not seen this or heard it untill now. I am glad to see any pitcher get a no hitter. As for the Cubs, I am not ready to pick them yet but....1908-2008 karma .

I can not beleive they moved the game to Milwaukee. It was a home game for the Cubs. MLB didnt do a very good job this time.

You really can't blame Selig for the whole thing. The Astros' owner refused to consider moving the series before the hurricane hit. They talked about Atlanta, St. Louis or Tampa Bay, but he threw an absolute fit and insisted that the game could be played Saturday night. McLane is as much to blame as anyone, IMO. I feel very sorry for the Houston players having to leave their families and I know Miller Park was 99% Cubs fans, but I really think almost anywhere "neutral" would have been the same. Cubs fans are all over the place and realistically, how many Houston people would have traveled to TB or Atlanta this past weekend? If it had been in Atlanta or St. Lou, my family probably would have gone to watch. The hurricane just stunk for them in more ways than one.

It was the only place open that had zero chance of any weather delays, MLB couldn't chance it and it was the only open venue, tough luck for the Stros, but it's not anyones fault.

TTL nailed it. Drayton McClane could have agreed to relocate earlier and may have very well cost his team the wildcard.

 

The Astros didn't leave Houston until Sunday morning because McClane still felt like the games could be played. No wonder Zambrano threw a no-hitter. Several of the players lobbied to go ahead and scheduled the neutral site Thursday so they could leave town early and arrive, and McClane held out for Houston.

 

As far as Milwaukee goes, is there a stadium in the midwest or east where 20,000 Cubs fans aren't going to show up? St. Louis and KC were out because of the storm system that passed through Sunday. Atlanta and Tampa were possibilites but needed more than 24 hours notice because of concession/parking issues.

 

I agree with TTL. If there is human blame, it goes to Drayton McClane for being stubborn and looking at the bottom line and not the playoff picture.

I think my favorite part of the entire game was right before the last out he looked up and you could tell what he was saying in his mind. "Please, just one more out"
