September 14, 200818 yr Didnt here him mention a thing on the radio about the fans booing the kicker after his third missed field goal. Where is everyone saying he is just a college kid and should never be boo'd. Is this different from Hartline? Both were for bad performance.
September 14, 200818 yr Booed, he should be kicked off the team................................just kidding;) Booing a kid for a bad performance and booing him because he is being compared immediately to last year's QB is different. Let our QB throw 3 interceptions and Brooks wont say a word about booing him, because he can't be booed on the bench.

I see your point and maybe not some much Brooks as much as alot of fans last week. I heard alot of "hes a college kid or his parents are there".
September 14, 200818 yr Good snap, good hold, within your range... with the exception of the block...it was solely Seiber who was responsible for his failure... Hatline last week didn't play very bad and alot of his criticism can be pointed at the effect of other player's mistakes made. Plus this is Seiber's 3rd season kicking, he has not improved and continues to be one of the most inexperienced kickers in the country. Seiber is simply a horrible kicker in game settings.
September 14, 200818 yr But what Brooks did mention was that the kicker position will be up for grabs now, finally!

I agree, I like Hartline but if he ended up like Seiber and not getting any better after 3 years then we should ship him out of Lexington. I dont think he will but I am just making a point.
September 14, 200818 yr I don't see it as that. Brooks went on record and made his point, and that's it. Do you expect him to react every time it happens? Then you will have people boo just for the sake of watching him react each time.
September 14, 200818 yr But what Brooks did mention was that the kicker position will be up for grabs now, finally! Actually, he said in his post game interview with Tom Leach that they have opened up the competition several times in the past, but Lonas always wins it.
September 14, 200818 yr He's got one job to do kick. He hasn't been very good at it ever. I just find it hard to believe they can't find anyone better. Yes he's a college kid, but he's on full scholarship he deserves to be booed.
September 14, 200818 yr Sounds like a Double Standard. What is harder throwing a pass 10 yards or kicking a ball through upper rights from 49 yards?

Yes he's a college kid, but he's on full scholarship he deserves to be booed. I don't believe any kid who is out there trying should be booed. They are still kids. The only time I think a college player deserves to be booed is if he takes a cheap shot at someone.
September 14, 200818 yr It's not the same thing. He was upset last week because the fans were actually booing HIM for putting Hartline back into the game. They were booing the kicker Saturday, and that's OK.
