Teiple never had a chance to gt up going, rushed only 9 times, I think 79 yds. Only played O first quarter.

Dayton plays Ludlow next week. Beechwood was dominant as usually. I really only have one complant witht he Beechwood staff. With 15 seconds left in the first half, and already up by 41, the Beechwood coaches rushed in a play and had their starters in there rushing to the line to get a play off before the half to try to score again. They hiked the play with two seconds to go in the first half up 41. I think it is pretty bad when you try to demoralize a team and that shows pretty bad sportsmanship.

Beechwood wanted to get one more touchdown with their starters so they wouldn't have to play the second half. Also, Dayton had constant late hits and cheapshots which were unsportsmanlike (many of which were not called) , so don't accuse Beechwood of being unsportsmanlike when they wanted to score when they were on the one yardline.

Why would Beechwood's starters have to play in the second half if they weren't up 48 - 0, instead of the 41 - 0 they were already up?

Probably has something to do with the running clock. But I forget what the threashold is for that.

I agree with the late hits. Stupid and believe me the players will pay for it today. There was only two though. But I'm talking about the coaches rushing their players to run another play with two seconds left in the half. If anything, I would want my starters to take the break at half and then come out and play one series so they get more practice to break of half time.

This happens every yr for BHS. If some of you only knew what the kids were told in games like this. Like: no one will cross the goal line the rest of the game, ball inside the five after driving w/the 2nd and 3rd string player's the QB is told to fumble the snap or take a knee. For anyone to accuse a BHS team of trying to demoralize another team is completely ridiculous. Over the last several yrs the BHS teams could have put up 70 pts against some of their district opponents and most think they should have. The 2's and 3's work just as hard in practice and get beat on by the 1's everyday so why shouldn't they get to score.

 

So don't accuse BHS of ever trying to demoralize a team or running the score up. I am willing to bet and I am a gambling man, that BHS wanted that running clock in order to get out of their early and as quick as possible.

I have been to more Beechwood games than ALMOST everyone else. I was not there Friday due to a commitment with another child,.......however......usually, if Beechwood WANTED to demoralize a team, they could do it many times over. Didnt see the rush that you did, but I know many boys who would never usually see playing time, got to play a lot and were very happy.

 

Whatever happened before half time was first string making way for the hungry second and third string players.

 

I am sorry that you saw it as demoralizing, and I respect your feelings. However, I think there was a lot more respect there than you think.

Understand what you may be saying, but don't sterotype. Seems they have been working to clean up that old sterotype. Did some stupid things in this one. But your statement is almost like saying anyone who has played at Dayton is a cheap shot artist. I know this isn't likely what you meant, but...

 

Oh and I for one don't have any problem with the score. Want them out of the end zone? Keep them out. BWood probably could have won by 70 or 80 had they wanted.
