September 8, 200818 yr Add Marvin to that as well. I was going to say... If last year we fired the Defensive Coordinator because the defense was so bad.... And this year we are going to fire the Offensive Coordinator because the offense is so bad... WHOM is the consistent one on the staff that hired both of them.
September 8, 200818 yr He needs to go, Marvin needs to go, Chris Henry needs to be kicked in the butt on his way out, Chad JOHNSON needs to leave with his "genius marketing" and go somewhere else. I say blow the whole coaching staff up and hire all new. One of the most talented offenses going to waste because of poor coaching.
September 8, 200818 yr It's always more enjoyable listening to my father during the games, then the announcers. He was screaming at the TV for the Bengals to do something different on offense, just awful play calling. We shall see how all this unfolds as the year goes on, but barring a miracle, Marvin needs to go along with his entire staff.
September 8, 200818 yr Author I was going to say... If last year we fired the Defensive Coordinator because the defense was so bad.... And this year we are going to fire the Offensive Coordinator because the offense is so bad... WHOM is the consistent one on the staff that hired both of them. True. But we've seen those same play calls for 3 years straight. And worse yet, they use these plays in the same situations in just about every game. It honestly has become so very predictable.
September 8, 200818 yr True. But we've seen those same play calls for 3 years straight. And worse yet, they use these plays in the same situations in just about every game. It honestly has become so very predictable. Agree wholeheartedly. It's really bad when the average fan can sit at home and call the play just based upon the formation! Here's what I wonder...since Carson is considered to be just a half notch or so below Peyton and Brady by many people...why not do this...let him call his own plays! At the very least, it should break up some tendancies that are so very evident now. Besides, how could it possibly get any worse?!
September 8, 200818 yr I was going to say... WHOM is the consistent one on the staff that hired both of them. Mike Brown...
September 8, 200818 yr Mike Brown... And there is the answer. I don't know how how Mike Brown can look at himself in the mirror. The old man would be ashamed:irked:
September 8, 200818 yr It's sad when: 1. The common fan knows what play is coming. 2. The players complain about the offense (happened last year). 3. The opposing teams say they know what's coming. Brat needs to go, along with Marvin. We know Brown isn't going anywhere. He needs to hire a GM, and then work on hiring the right head coach. However, this will never happen until people stop going to the games. Mike Brown is making money, and that's all he cares about. He doesn't care about putting a winner on the field when the stadium is selling out every week. They need to dump a few players, and then move on. CJ's antics are old. TJ is the biggest cry baby in the league. His offseason of working on his own is BS. He should be in Cincinnati working with the rest of his team if he's serious about winning. John Thorton, great guy, horrible defensive tackle. Chris Henry, enough said.
September 8, 200818 yr If Marvin can't see that Brat's play calling is absolutely terrible, then I agree, he needs to go as well.
September 8, 200818 yr I say keep em all. It used to be that a honest hard working Steeler fan could basically get a quality seat in Cincy along with the majority of the fans there wearing black and gold. So, at this status quo, the Steelers may have 2 "home games" vs. Cincy every year. Just like the old days!!

September 8, 200818 yr Mike Brown... But Brown isn't going anyone and he's not hiring a GM. He gave Marvin the keys to the car for 4 years and Marvin has proven he's a defensive coordinator and not a head coach. (Same was true for Bruce Coslet - an offensive coodinator, but not a head coach). He got the Bengals back to mediocrity, but is not the guy to take them to the next level. The Bengals are being badly outcoached game in and game out. If Bratkowski can't figure out that Chris Perry is not a good option to run between the tackles, he's in the wrong business. The problem with firing a coach mid-season - which is probably where we're headed with Marvin - is that there just isn't a lot of quality choices out there to take over the job.
September 8, 200818 yr No way Brown fires Marvin. That would cost him money. He'll be forced to finish out his contract.
