:thumb: Absolutely, this win was "pride" type win, nothing else. Time to go back to work on correcting our mistakes made tonight.

I know Ashland struggled last year and Raceland ended up in the playoffs. Is Ashland going to have another long year? Is Raceland as good/better than last year?

Congratulations to the Rams and all their fans! They are as good as advertised. They made some typical first game mistakes, but I expect them to correct those and go on to have a very successful season.

 

The Tomcats showed grit in fighting back from being down 13, but couldn’t come up the big play in the OT when they needed it and had to settle for the FG. We sure missed Josh Alber (#34 - our FB) at that point. He went out injured and never returned. It looked like they were worried about his knee. I hope he heals soon.

Awesome game Rams. The Rams started cramping and showing wear and tear in the 3rd. Ashland took advantage of being able to sub more and with fresh legs tied the game up. Raceland players gut checked on the sidelines before overtime and pulled off an outstanding victory. Carver and Denton had great games and Boyles played great hobbling through most of the second half with cramps. Raceland's o-line played an outstanding game. Got to hold on to that ball though.

 

Ashland has some talent. I don't think they will be down long, but they have a tough one against Pikeville next Friday. Good luck Tomcats.

Yes. Ashland will have another long season. The Ashland program has fallen about as low as it can get. What I'm about to say is in now way negative about Raceland. They have a very, very good program, but Ashland, should never lose to a school the size of Raceland. I never thought I would see the day that the mighty Ashland Tomcat football program would fall to this level. Leon Hart might have been a fine college football coach, but IMO he is not a very good high school football coach. He coaches as if he is coaching college football. Twice tonight, he decided to forgo going for it on

4th and short, and punt from Raceland's 35 yard line. That is just idiotic. I know that the Bonner boy is a very good athlete, but Hart simply refuses to utilize him like he should. That young man should be getting the ball in his hands a lot more. Ashland used to be known for using it's tight end, and throwing that quick little pop pass. Vic Marsh had great success with it. I don't think Coach Hart knows what it is. Maybe he should go back, and look at some of the films from when Coach Marsh coached. I also don't think I've seen such a small Ashland team. Did they quit feeding the boys in Ashland? Ashland always used to have some big boys up front. I thought I was watching a freshman team out there tonight. Ashland just isn't very big up front. I can't see Ashland winning too many games this year. I predict another 2-8 season at best, and another year not making the playoffs. That might end up being the best thing for the Ashland program though, because I think Coach Hart has pretty much done about as much damage as should be allowed.

Congratulations to the Rams tonight on the victory. I listened to the broadcast, sounded like they shot themselves in the foot some. Also seemed like they went away from what was working.

How many yards did the Greenup transfer Carter end up with for Ashland?
