That was plenty of adventure for me. You should have seen it, time stood still, for seemed to be 10 minutes. Boyles going down for a sack, underhanded pass 9 yards down field, very high up in the are, five defenders, one receiver, the receiver out jumped all the defenders. Scary moment.

Congratulations to Raceland on the win. The Rams are a very solid and balanced football team. Although I was glad to see the Tomcats keep fighting and eventually capture a lead late in the game, the truth of the matter is, had it not been for Raceland turning the ball over, this game would not have seen overtime.

 

Ashland showed some grit and determination throughout this ballgame. That is something very positive to build upon. One game does not a season make…let’s get ready for Pikeville.

 

Good luck to the Rams for the rest of the year…I hope you guys can win it all.

:thumb: Absolutely, from what all I gathered from some people (and one of them was from Ashland) that were there that know football is that Raceland was just the the better football team.

Ashland kept coming at them and did not quit. Good luck to the Tomcats the rest of the way. I hope that the Tomcat players continue to play hard and don't start in with all of the negativity that is starting in Ashland after only one football game.

There is a true Ashland fan. Dont ever give up on the boys. They are trying as hard as they can.

I agree that everyone needs to stick with their teams but jumping off the wagon isn't anything new or isolated to Ashland fans. With that said I think the frustration is a carry over from last year and losing 3 straight to Raceland.

Is Ashland young this year? It is hard for me to believe that Raceland has beaten the Tomcats 3 straight years.

Thought this was a very good game. Both teams I thought showed a lot of class and respect for each other. I think both teams will win a lot of games this year, Ashland should not get down for losing this game they played a really good Raceland team. Good luck to both.

Congratulations to the Rams tonight on the victory. I listened to the broadcast, sounded like they shot themselves in the foot some. Also seemed like they went away from what was working.

This game has really become huge for both Ashland and Raceland. Especially after Ashland moved up to 5A.

 

For Raceland, an early season win over a 5A team is a huge confidence booster and really a great way to start off another season.

 

For Ashland, a win over Raceland would have got a mark in the win column. Something that is very important considering the schedule they play. A loss to Raceland to start the season off, followed by a very good Pikeville team, followed by an always tough Ironton, OH team, on to the rivalry Russell club and finishing off with Montgomery County team.

 

Week six against Boyd (4A) may be Ashland's first chance to get a win again this season. It's tough on any ball team to keep their heads up when the numbers in the loss column are getting higher and the number in the win column is staying at 0.

 

I'm not at all saying that Ashland won't beat all of their upcoming opponents, just giving an example of what happened last season.

 

A first week win over Raceland would have been huge for the Tomcats.
