I dont have a dog in this fight...but to ignore the fact that Ashland has dropped substantially since Hart has taken over is foolish...the Ashland prgram needs to make some changes in some form.

 

You can put this tidbit of information in the "for what its worth" column: Ashland went to the regional championship game in Hart's first year...a feat which had not been accomplished in over 15 years prior. In his 3rd year, the Cats were again in the regional championship game. From 2003 through the abysmal 2008 season, Ashland went 8 – 5, 9 – 4, 9 – 3, 9 – 3 and 2 – 8 respectively. Are years of 9 wins acceptable for Ashland fans…probably not. Unless you win your last game in the post season, you always want better.

 

It's easy for us, as spectators, to second guess coaches. We have the advantage of hind sight…and none of us, as fans, want to loose a ballgame. I will give you this, EKUAlum…I hope there are some changes made too, but to blame it all on Hart is a bit off target. I believe there are other factors involved with the drop off we suffered through last season. As for the start of this year’s campaign, I certainly wanted to tag Raceland as much as any Tomcat fan, but I refuse to hang my head after the loss…and am not ready to tar and feather the coach either.

 

Let’s hold verdict until after the Pikeville game. I believe we will all see a big improvement.

Nor will we. Coaching and football is left to the coaches and the boys on the field. My opinion this shows on Friday Nights. Good luck Red Devils, except Oct. 31.

I personally dont think that we will lose but we have to improve on almost every aspect of the game....

So who is to blame? Ultimately the head coach is the perosn that you blame. You cant blame the players because the coach has to put them into postitions to win. You cant blame the AD because like you said and the coach took the team to 2 regional championship games in 3 years, inwhich IMO we had the better team. You cant blame the fans because all we do is watch. So I am interested in who takes the blame for a team that doesnt live up to these capability. You and alot of other Ashland fans know we have talent and for some reason the kids arent winning. So you tell me....

FWIW, I never blamed it all on Hart. Just stated that those who have decided to turn a blind ear and only want to keep a solely optimistic viewpoint are foolish to not take note that all of this has happened under Hart's tenure. Several factors could be contributing, but if Ashland continues to go about on their merry way without proactively seeking these problems and solving them, then the path of the Tomcats leads directly to mediocrity.

And was at a GC elementary before Crabbe.....(Wurtland Elementary) K-3 grades. You people can keep grasping. He was a GC student first. Game, Set,Match.
