Anybody go to the scrimmage last night? How did they do?

I heard they did pretty well. I think Monday or Tuesday they are headed to Russell to play Mason Co. at a same type event as last night.

IMO Greenup will be fine this year. They have alot of talent and a excellent coach. The only problem i can see with this GC team would be lack of confidence and inexperience. If nethier is an issue greenup will be the front runner in the 16th!

 

Obviously you have no idea about about ELLIOTT COUNTY AND EAST CARTER, they are not front runners in their own district

As of now, yes Elliott and East are without a doubt favorites. IMO Elliott and East are at their peaks though and i dont think they can or will get much better. Greenup on the other hand has alot of growing in them! Expecially with all the young talent they have on the team and they will grow as the season progresses and come tourny time GC will be up with Elliott and East carter!!

They will be able to compete with those two this year as the season builds but they are going to have to really improve to be able to beat Elliot, I have seen them play up close and personal, they are one of the best teams in the state, no doubt, now saying that I do believe that GCHS will eventually be the team to beat in the 16th, maybe not this year but watch out the next two...

I have a question. Have you seen either of these teams play? Ever? If the answer is yes, my question to you is this: Have you seen this Greenup team play? If the answer is yes, then my question to you is this: How do you propose that GC will matchup with East or Elliott? If GC shoots 90% from the floor, they still won't have enough possessions to beat the likes of Elliott.

 

While I find it amiable that you're in your teams corner, the reality train seems to have left the station.

West Carter (yes, West Carter) had them down 9 or 10 after 3 quarters at the Jack Fultz Classic Saturday, then Webb put his 8th graders, freshmen, and lower level sophs. Outside of Williams, I didn't see a "big-time" player or any "big-time", standout potential. East Carter will be good for the next couple of years, as will Rose Hill. I appreciate the optimism/enthusiasm, but everybody's optimistic/enthusiastic this time of year.

Thank you Viking for trying to bring some common sense to this thread,it's one thing to love your team its another to throw reason out the door, GC doen't match up with Elliott or East at any of the 5 positions an as far as East goes Gc's bench is weaker, Greenup's 3 frontline starters combined can't put up Barnhill numbers, I'm sorry thats just the truth not just an opinion

Let's face it folks... if Fraley coaches the entire season (I'm sure he will) and they manage to win 12 to 15 games, which is very possible, looking at their schedule... this will be the best season GC's had in years.... I for one, am looking forward to a year without drama in GC basketball....
