August 23, 200818 yr I breathed a sigh of relief as I am glad he did not select Evan Bayh. Biden brings some foreign relations committee experience to the table, but not a whole lot else IMO. Does not help in Ohio, Florida, Pennsylvania or Michigan (which are going to be the states that decide this election). McCain can win the election with any 2 of these 4, I think Obama needs 3 of 4 to win the election.

To Biden's credit, he is fairly intelligent as US Senators go - he knows how many states are in the union and will not need a geography lesson before responding to the next Russian invasion.
August 23, 200818 yr What a horrible, horrible choice Obama has made in selecting Biden as his running mate. All McCain has to do is say nice things about Biden and remind people that Biden is not running for president. Just one more reason for not picking a wildly unsuccessful losing presidential candidate as a running mate. Evan Bayh would have made a much more formidable opponent for the McCain campaign.

If so, did you feel just a little bit like Ralphie when he realized that he had been bamboozled? :lol: Has any VP announcement been so badly mishandled in US history? If Democrats are lucky, Biden will decline the nomination just like he promised to do.
