It's official. Josh Conner has a broken fibula. He will be out 4-6 weeks.

It sounds like he is quite a RB. Young bones heal quickly, let's hope. What is his size, speed, main attributes, etc.? Is he D-1 material? Will this injury compromise his scholarship chances? Good luck to him.

Well, thank God it's not worse than that! If he's back fully healed in 4-6 weeks and ready for the second half of the season I'll take it.

He will be missed. However, after watching Crawford who ran his heart out last night, I think we will be fine. Althought they didn't get much time at RB because they were filling in on D for Frank and Wells, Head and Fennell are also hard nosed running backs. Colerain is going to be tuff but Colerain was always going to be tuff with or without Conner. This is the part where TEAM comes into play. When one soldier goes down, the rest have to step it up.

I now you mean well, but we have Ryle first. And yes it will be the "team" that wins this years Championship. :thumb:

4-6 is about as good as it gets for a prognosis.

I wish this young man all the best. Prayers from Raceland are going out for Josh Connor.

This is terrible news for the Birds. It could have been worse and getting JC back for the 2nd half is actually a relief. This will give Crawford, Head, Fennell the chance to step up.

 

I was up at the field this morning watchign some FTJRFL and the Birds were running windsprints in the endzone. They all looked a little dazed and confused. I am sure they will refocus and set their sights on Ryle this week. I have faith that they will win their home opener next Friday. Go Birds.

Yeah...I believe the Birds play a team from Union first. Might not want to look past them. Play the Raiders, then you can worry about Colerain...

I am very sad to hear this news. I was really looking forward to seeing this young man play against my Cards.

 

Most important though, is his health long-term. Best wishes to Conner and here's hoping he makes it back in time to help the Birds bring yet ANOTHER state title home to Ft. Thomas.

It's a shame it has to happen to one of the best.

He'll be back in time for a playoff run. Hiram Fields, from Cawood, broke his fibula the first game of his senior year. He didn't miss any games with it, and still rushed for over 1,000 yards. Cawood had one of the better teams in the mountains that year.

 

Conner will be fine. Best of luck to him.
