We live in a day of instant communication. There is absolutely ZERO wrong with this. It's not just geared to kids. Most of the professional adults I know use their cell phones as a technology and communication tool. A 60 yro colleague of mine communicates with me via texting all summer long. Many of us have our phones set up to give us sports scores, weather and news updates, amongst others.

 

My question is, if it were McCain instead of Obama, would you still be bemoaning the idea? Methinks not.

As long as people are dumb enough to sign up for Obama's text message, the idea is not lame. Lists of phone numbers and addresses of people willing to be solicited for political donations are valuable assets for campaigns and telemarketers to possess. After Obama loses the election, he can sell the list to help retire his campaign debts. :lol:
