Thats what I have heard and others are talking about it also. Jones has basically had the best team, other than Lincoln of course, in the region and cant get out of his district.

I mean he missed his calling. He would have been a millionair if he would have went into politics instead of education. He manipulates the site-base councils at different schools and has at least 2 people running for school board member this term so he can manipulate the board office as well. Hey, I am not knocking him I think everyone should look after themselves to the best of their ability and all he is doing is working for job security. It would take major changes in administration for Jones to lose his job.IMHO!

Best Schedules the past few years in the region have been West, Wayne, Boyle and Lincoln Co. If you look this year at thier schedules on KHSAA it seems these teams again have great schedules.

 

As far as Jones at McCreary getting fired- dont see it happening! Plus Watts is just a junior- Mccreary will be good this year and next- McCreary along with about 3-4 other teams in region will have shots the next 2 years.

 

As far as McCreary being political- isnt every school system anymore?:confused:

 

Yes to some degree but you see the old school politics (that was around 20 years ago) in McCreary Co. It is hard to explain unless you live or work here. My kids will soon be out of school and I won't have to worry with it any more!

Wow sounds like he might end up on the front page of a paper. Its really hard for me to believe that its that political there. Jones must really have it going on.

After watching them during the summer, McCreary Central has something special in the 3 punch with Watts, Roark, and Wright. These players have something special when playing together. Watts and Roark are two of the better players in the region. Wright is a smart pointguard, and is also a scoring pointguard. Never really saw this part of his game until this summer, i guess its time for him to step up with the loss of Swiger. Look for these 3 to have a breakout year for the Raiders.

Would have to disagree some- Seems every year SW is ranked highly as is Boyle and Lincoln( not sure they should be 3 and 4 this year). East should be good- not sure Mercer should be that high- West is always ranked low? Why is that- last two years they have done pretty well! I think I would go

Casey will by much improved and Burgin also- either of those two could also crack top ten very quickly.

Southwestern has some excellent young kids that will make a difference this season. They play year around, I promise you they have improved greatly and matured.

I think Lincoln will be better than you think this year, especially after Christmas. They have a couple of very promising sophomores, and if they step up and get playing time, Lincoln will be very very good!

 

Also, for you McCreary fans, will Tyson Williams get any playing time this year?

The problem with Garrard as a sleeper is that Boyle and Lincoln still rank ahead of the Lions. With those programs being so solid, it's tough to crack into the region.

 

I do think Garrard can make some noise in the 12th Region this season. Coach DeForest's teams will play tough defense and will be disciplined on offense. But to have any long-term success, development of depth will be necessary. If they can do that, you might be on to something with that sleeper pick!

Agrred with Lincoln being good- Best senior in region in Spurlin, and know what it takes in the program to get there- and with Jackson and home court advantage I would expect to see them again in the semis.

 

Garrard Co is a great choice for sleeper- true Lincoln and Boyle are solid, but I agree Deforest does an excellent job and his kids play tough D and are very patient on O. I can see them winning another 16-17 games this year---
