Favre To Jets

Featured Replies

Forget the "winning it all" argument. It's irrelevant because neither team is good enough to do so with our without Favre. It's like arguing about whether the Dolphins chances of winning it all are better than the Falcons.

It's fine if you think the Bucs are better than the Jets. I disagree. The real point is that there isn't a big difference in the two teams. Neither are going to win a title this season.

The posts I've read on here make it sound like the Bucs were the Patriots and the Jets were the Falcons...and Favre decided to play for Atlanta.

Considering the two are comparable, Favre is better off going to the team that surrounds him with better offensive talent and that team is the Jets.

I just totally disagree with you on this one. If you are Farve why would you come back unless it's to win it all. The Bucs won their division last year with a team that could do everything but stretch the field deep because of their QB's arm strength. Farve automatically gives you that. Farve and Galloway would stretch the field BIG TIME! Putting Farve on an already Division winner means a better team that has a great chance to be playing at home in the playoffs. You can't ask for much more. The Jets have next to no chance of playing at home in the playoffs IMO. They are MUCH improved with the upgrade in the Oline+Farve but being in a confrence with the Pats and even worse being in the AFC is bad for him IMO. He only has a couple of years at the most. Why go somewhere that you don't have a chance to win?

You HAVE to take into account of where Tampa finished last year and where the Jets were at. Even if the Jets are lucky enought to slip into the playoffs they would probably have to go to Indy, Jacksonville, San Diego and or New England. Good luck on that road! The Jets are getting better and can be good this year but that road is brutal just to get to the Super Bowl!

Cotchery is just as good as Coles...he's got two pretty good WR's in those two, the rookie TE Keller and Leon Washington is a good receiver out of the backfield. He's got more weapons in NY than he would have had in Tampa, so why was everyone so excited about that move?

If you're using that argument against my comments then that is irrelevant question to ask me because I wasn't "excited" about him going to Tampa...

Did anyone hear Madden on Czaban today, he wasn an absolute riot. He said that America should change the number four to Favre.....he used examples like Favreth down and the Favreth of July....I laughed out loud in my car.

Are you sure that wasn't Frank Caliendo doing his impersonation of John Madden?

^ I thought that for a bit, but they NEVER credited Frank...and that wouldn't happen.

I just saw a report that 6 teams are interested in Pennington, including possibly, the Vikings.

Now this is all in theory, but wouldn't it just be great poetic justice, if Pennington were to sign with the Vikings, win the starters job, take them to the post season, beat the Packers in the NFC championship to go on to face his former team quarterbacked by Farve who was supposed to end up in the spot that he would theoretically be in, with the Vikings in the Super Bowl...

One would certainly think that the Bears are one of the six. If not, they really are

I just saw on ESPN where Brett Favre got traded. I really haven't seen any TV coverage on this. Can someone help me out with details????

It sure has become a joke for sure.

I will set the over/under for the word Favre being used on Monday night at 25

I heard they were going to rename the show "FavreCenter"

Pretty sure it was Frank. He did the same bit on Mike and Mike.

That would be funny. I'd love to see Pennington win it before he retires. He's a great guy and a hard worker. I hope he goes to the Vikes or Bears. I think the Vikes + Dolphins have shown the most intrest thus far. The Chiefs have been thrown in there too.

"Madden Curse" maybe? Come on. Being traded to the Jets isn't a curse? :D

Brett has been an iron man throughout his career. If he gets injured and has to miss multiple games this season, we'll know just how powerful "the curse" is. This is going to put the Madden Curse to it's ultimate test.
