August 7, 200818 yr I will say that if this happens for sure that the Packers have done a great job after they made the mistake to let him go. They should have kept him IMO but you get a draft pick and send him to the other confrence. I wonder if there is a trade clause in there that he can't get swapped somewhere like Minny?I'd put money on it.
August 7, 200818 yr I still can't believe it! I'll believe it when he steps on the field there! It's a WHOLE new system. It's not West Coast. It's a bunch of shifts etc with a power run game. Seriously the Jets made a GREAT move but Farve made a horrible one. You've got a really slim shot at the playoffs in the AFC where probably the top 3 teams in football reside! I've heard it was for a 3 with incentives to be a 2. If the Jets win it all with Farve then it can be a 1.
August 7, 200818 yr True dat. My ties to Pennington go back a long way, and I wish him the best. He's got a long career as an analyst ahead of him when he hangs it up... :thumb: I loved watching him when he was playing at Marshall and Pennington is a stand up guy, all class imo.

August 7, 200818 yr Author :thumb: I loved watching him when he was playing at Marshall and Pennington is a stand up guy, all class imo. We started at Marshall at the same time, and had the same major. Things were off the charts at Marshall in terms of talent and coaches at that time, and Pennington was forced in to action right out of the gate. He redshirted to let Kresser run the show, and in that "off" year he took the job as sports director at the student run radio station. He's fantastic on air, and his worst case is a big time broadcasting career...
August 7, 200818 yr Author I hope you all know we have the next Jay Glazer right here with us.....GT? If only I had a passion for the NFL like I do college hoops...

I don't know if he ended up buying it or not but he was really wanting one in that area. I coach with a guy that played at Marshall and Chad is great around there about giving back! I'd really like to see him succeed somewhere like Chicago since he's been jerked around in NY so much.
August 7, 200818 yr Too bad Favre doesn't have a decent receiving corps to toss the pigskin to. 6 different Jets players combined to catch a total of 15 TD's last season. Yeah, it would help if they had a decent QB throwing them the ball (they do now) but still, that's pathetic. Coles is okay but that's about it.

He has a very weak arm, but maybe he could do okay in a different system outside the extremely windy Giants stadium. Minnesota sounds like a good destination for him if he gets cut.
August 7, 200818 yr I think Cochary is pretty good too. The problem is both of those guys are possesion guys. Neither are big deep threats. I'm just blown away that he went somewhere that isn't a West Coast system. I have a best friend that coached with the Jets last year (he took a job at UT this year) and it is a bunch of shifts etc. built around a power run game. Nothing like the West Coast. They have been more of a bunch etc team. Maybe some is due to not having a QB that can sling it down the field.
