August 7, 200818 yr So I assume Farve of course would be the starter. Do they keep Pennington as their back-up or will he be traded as well? You would think getting Favre he would be starter, but who knows with what is all going on.
August 7, 200818 yr I was really hoping Favre would end up on a title contender, especially after his near miss last season. Jets may make the playoffs, but this could just turn out to be a step above Emmit Smith as a Cardinal.

Smith comment, I hadn't thought of that but you may be right, the Jets are pathetic and I would hate to see Favre go out like Smith did. That picture.... (Smith/Cardinals) was sad to watch.
August 7, 200818 yr Author He has been done for a while. True dat. My ties to Pennington go back a long way, and I wish him the best. He's got a long career as an analyst ahead of him when he hangs it up...
August 7, 200818 yr Maybe ESPN can find something else to talk about now. They will continue to talk about this for a few more weeks.
August 7, 200818 yr Maybe ESPN can find something else to talk about now. They still have the Yankees, Red Sox. Now the Jets can send Pennington to the Bears.

(Smith/Cardinals) was sad to watch. :thumb: As a lifelong Cowboy fan and with Emmit being my favorite player at the time it was incredibly tough to watch him go out like that. Now it appears Favre could be heading in the same direction unless some kind of miracle happens. I hope not but more than likely this is how I see it happening and if it does happen like that then I will forever link he and Emmit with great players with great careers on a certain team, who should have stayed retired. I would have a lot more hopes, but the Jets are in the same division as the Pats, and all though their O-Line should be pretty solid, the Jets lack that dynamic running back to help Favre out. Defense is just your average NFL D.
August 7, 200818 yr I ticked! That's the last place I wanted him to go! Why would you go to the Jets? They stink! They upgraded their Oline but they aren't close to winning it all IMO. The only good thing is seeing him and Brady go at it twice and hopefully Peyton. What a waste! The Jets are close to being the worst team in their division!

August 7, 200818 yr I will say that if this happens for sure that the Packers have done a great job after they made the mistake to let him go. They should have kept him IMO but you get a draft pick and send him to the other confrence. I wonder if there is a trade clause in there that he can't get swapped somewhere like Minny?
August 7, 200818 yr Not when they share a division with the Fish, who were epically bad last season. That's why I said close! The Pats are better and I think the Bills are too. The fish are building and the Jets are a decent team that probably won't make the playoffs. I mean seriously: Pats, Colts, Jags, Chargers (they can all win it all) Steelers, Broncos, Ravens, Bengals(bad run d), Browns, Bills, Titans... I would put them all ahead of the Jets. They are about on par with the Texans IMO. They definatly got WAY better in the off season other than losing Vilma but why Brett why?
