July 29, 200818 yr I'm still waiting for someone to tell me why you all expect UK to be better this year.... The Cats can be better than last year...basically because the defense should be the best that it has been in a long time. And if the QB situation pans out then UK should be fine. I am going to go with 6-6...with a game slide either way.

I am going to go with 6-6...with a game slide either way.In order for UK's defense to be the best it had been in a long time, it would only need to be the 10th best in the SEC. Because of OT games UK actually had the worst defense in the SEC last season. Sure they will be better than horrible, but returning a bunch of starters from a bad defense doesn't always mean they will be good the following season.
July 29, 200818 yr UK fans didn't feel the same way about UL's rise. Funny how that works... It's also funny how one person is "UK fans"...
July 29, 200818 yr Sun., Aug. 31 Louisville @ Louisville, Ky.-W Sat., Sept. 6 NORFOLK STATE-W Sat., Sept. 13 MIDDLE TENNESSEE-W Sat., Sept. 27 WESTERN KENTUCKY-W Sat., Oct. 4 Alabama @ Tuscaloosa, Ala.-L Sat., Oct. 11 SOUTH CAROLINA-L Sat., Oct. 18 ARKANSAS-W Sat., Oct. 25 Florida @ Gainesville, Fla.-L Sat., Nov. 1 Mississippi State @ Starkville, Miss.-W Sat., Nov. 8 GEORGIA-L Sat., Nov. 15 VANDERBILT-W Sat., Nov. 29 Tennessee @ Knoxville, Tenn-L I look for them to go 7-5. I think the only three for shure loses will be against Florida, Tennessee, and Georgia. I think the rest of the schedule could be wins if they get the QB situation fixed and they play good this season. Go Cats!!!!
July 29, 200818 yr Who's predicting they'll be 9-4? ...... UK will win 7 or 8 games regular season and will be a better team than last year. Cats will be 7-0 going into Gainesville!:ylsuper:

It's the QB and offense that I'm worried about..A QB in Hartline having to go against Louisville, @ Florida, @ Miss. State, @ Alabama, and play South Carolina who we just can't seem to beat...It'll be a tough year depending on how they handle it!
July 29, 200818 yr I'm still waiting for someone to tell me why you all expect UK to be better this year.... Better at every position on defense and will be the best UK defense since the 1970's, big strong DL's & DE's,great cover corner, very solid at LB & SS, 2nd year for the DC,the kicking game is back in tact and will be better, the offensive line will be big, good & experienced, a stable of good running backs, 2 very capable and different QB's one a threat to run the other is 6-6 with a good arm, some good, tall, talented tight ends, improved special teams and depth, and some good young talent at WR like Cobb,Fields,Boyd, to back up Lyons,Lanxter,& Ford. This team will be better than last year and has better depth.

And of course things look good on paper and you expect them to be better but there is nothing that says seasoning makes you better. They have to gel together and learn to work together and make good decisions..The Special Teams defense is what killed UK last year, that is one of many things that will have to improve for UK to compete.

What changes were made to the kicking game? Didn't UK have an awesome punter? Who's the running-threat QB? Pulley? Neither have much game experience AT ALL...Young talent is key in your statement of the WR's. You have an abundance of optimism, that is for sure.

As I said earlier, that is not saying all that much. I look for UK to be about middle of the pack in college football... which is a big upgrade for UK. Still not going to be enough to slow down the big horses of the conference.
