July 30, 200818 yr IMO, defense is the least of UK's concerns. Until they actually field a good defense, and not just a defense that is improved or "better than last year", it's always going to be a concern. I think there is reason to believe that UK is finally making some real progress on that side of the ball, but until they improve their depth on that side of the ball, it's always going to be a question.

UofL's offense is thought to be their's. I never said whose is better... NO WHERE. All I said was that UofL's offense would be their strength, and their defense would be their question mark...

And where did I say anything to that extent? You specifically say UL will score points, the question is their defense. You then specifically say UK's question is on offense and that the poster shouldn't be so confident (I agree BTW).... you are confident with UL's offense but not UK's? Same skill experience and UK has a more experienced line... if you are going to infer one way IT has to be equal when discussing these offenses.

No UK fan in their right mind would EVER assume UK to be better than anyone in special teams! As long as Lones Seiber is kicking knuckleball field goals and Masthay is punting every other punt 12 yards and out of bounds I will never make that claim!
July 30, 200818 yr Personally IMO Derrick Locke is an underrated RB in the confrence. He stepped in last year and did a pretty good job against some great defenses. UL is alot of unprovens like UK so it really would not be a big shock to beat them.

UK definitely has some talent and depth at RB...the biggest question and concern, IMO, is whether or not guys like Locke and Dixon who are small RB's can stay healthy for the whole season. Dixon has been injured pretty much every year and Locke had some injury issues last year as a backup. They need those guys to stay healthy...

July 30, 200818 yr Dixon's not that small, and don't forget Allen. I haven't. Or Smith...I think they're all quality backs. I just hope they all stay healthy. Dixon is my least favorite because he coughs the ball up 1 out of every 5 touches it seems. If all are healthy, he'd play the least if I were coaching. UK can't afford to turn the ball over a lot and if he's got it in his hands a lot, it's almost a certainty that that's going to happen.
July 30, 200818 yr It's wasy to say it that way, but everyone on Louisville, excluding TE has considerable gametime experience....U of L's offense shouldn't be their achilles' this year. That's not entirely true. The OL only has Wood & Bussey with any experience, Wetterer has only played in 1 game with no starts, Kayetha has played in 4 games with only 1 start, Adams has played in a total of 4 games with no starts. I think you have to add the OL with TE as questions marks for the Cards this year and the OL is the key for any successs on offense.
