July 2, 200818 yr Favre is my all time favorite NFL player but I agree that this is getting kind of old. I would love to see him continue play with the Packers but it does throw everything in confusion for them and for Rodgers. I could not imagine Brett Favre in any other uniform than Green Bay. I hope that he doesn't come back with another team if he does come back. I also just heard on espn that Favre had commented...."no comment" and would not confirm the story. (no suprise there either ) I guess that we will have to wait and see. (plus, I don't think that it is above espn to take something, add to it and run with it either, . I am not saying they are, just that they are known for that kind of thing.)

July 3, 200818 yr I like Farve as much as the next guy...but stay gone. You aren't going to come back and win the Super Bowl so just enjoy retirement.

July 3, 200818 yr Reminds me somewhat of the Rocket. Without the steroids and adultery, though. That we know of. There were painkillers back when, although at least he admitted to it.
July 3, 200818 yr In other news, Aaron Rodgers is not having a good summer. He was quoted as saying the fans can either get on board with him or shut up about it (before the Favre coming back story broke).
July 3, 200818 yr Ok Roger Clemens, I mean Brett Favre. Time to retire Brett. Hardly Roger Clemens. I was as big of a Clemens fans as anyone could be (still am for his accomplishments on the field). Favre imo is far from being compared to Clemens...................I didn't hear any steroid allegations/scandals or other accusations that have been around him like they have on Clemens. Favre had a battle with pain killers qute some time ago and that I believe is all that has came out on him (and he was the one that told that). I put Favre far above Clemens as far as that goes. Brett Favre is a class act.

Favre is a Green Bay legend and the fans will always be talking about him, especially in a place and fan base like Green Bay. They will also embrace Rodgers as long as they see an all out effort on the field. Green Bay should have another very good season, imo unless the Packers fall flat on their face this season Rodgers will be fine. Following a legend is going to be tough, Rodgers sure doesn't need to make it more so by comments like this. Rodgers needs to play football and keep his mout shut as far as this kind of thing goes. JMO NO ONE will replace Brett Favre but there will be another QB and the Packer fanchise will go on (they did after Bart Starr ). :thumb:

July 3, 200818 yr Retired quarterback Brett Favre responded quickly to an ESPN report about a possible return to play for the Green Bay Packers by saying, "It's all rumor." When queried about a possible media firestorm, Favre text messaged, "No reason for it." Favre's response to report: 'It's all rumor'
July 3, 200818 yr ^ That is what I was referring to in post 16 :thumb:. I am not saying that he won't, players usually deny initial reports but espn also has a bad habit of taking something, adding to it, blowing it all up and runnning with it.

Brett Favre is a class act. Exactly, if you're human you are just as likely as anyone else to have a problem or addiction with pain killers as the next guy,...... If they're prescribed to you. I honestly wouldn't take mine too often when I had my knee surgeries unless I couldn't stand the pain. If it was just uncomfortable as heck I'd deal with it. I knew people that didn't drink, smoke, curse, and made straight A's that had problems with pain killers following a big surgery. Pain killers are the one drug that I can see people getting addicted to after being perscribed them that I'm not at all judgemental over...... As long as they've been perscribed.
July 3, 200818 yr Whatever makes Brett happy is what he should do. The Packers would take him back in a minute, so he isn't hurting them in any manner. I read the reports of what they said today, but the choice is pretty clear if it is Rodgers or Favre!!!
