June 26, 200818 yr Easy 1-2-3 bottom of the 10th, and the Reds rebound from last night's stinker. Well done, especially by Jared "Mr. Nike" Burton.
June 26, 200818 yr I'm the only one who's noticed this? I've noticed it before when the camera zooms in on him while pitching.
June 26, 200818 yr Dudd makes a decent throw and Ross can't make the play, well Harang WAS in position to get the win. Why was Ross behind the plate on the throw home?
June 26, 200818 yr Why was Ross behind the plate on the throw home? He backed up to try and get a better hop. Dunn short hopped the plate. Ross didn't stand much of a chance to catch the ball.
June 26, 200818 yr Good win. Volquez tomorrow, this probably will determine if he starts the All Star game. 2 very good starts against AL lineups will get him there I think. If he has a bad outing, I think the start goes to Webb just because of prestige.
June 26, 200818 yr He backed up to try and get a better hop. Dunn short hopped the plate. Ross didn't stand much of a chance to catch the ball. It appeared to hit the seam where the turf meets the dirt. Bad hop, just bad luck on that one possibly.
June 26, 200818 yr Prior to joining Cincinnati (36-43) in the offseason, Volquez (10-2, 1.71 ERA) spent parts of three seasons with Texas, going 3-11 in 20 appearances from 2005-07. The 24-year-old has limited opponents to three earned runs or fewer in 14 of his 15 starts. Volquez has won three straight starts on the road, where he is 5-1 with a 1.65 ERA in eight starts in 2008. Jesse Litsch (7-4, 4.06) went 7-1 with a 3.18 ERA in his first 11 appearances of 2008, but has since gone 0-3 with a 6.46 ERA in four starts - all in June. Litsch is 0-3 with a 7.91 ERA in four career interleague games, but has never faced the Reds. http://sports.yahoo.com/mlb/preview?gid=280626114
June 26, 200818 yr Ross never makes those plays at home. Very frustrating. And if you can't get it to home on a strike, then hit the cut off man!
June 26, 200818 yr Anyway, a big win last night for the Reds. Another win tonight and it's another series victory....
June 26, 200818 yr Cincinnati must win every series now until the All Star break just to go into the break .500. Thats a 12-5 record over the next 17. It's not likely to happen but I for one would love to see this team get to .500 before the break then see how the rest of the season turns out.

June 26, 200818 yr If he's patient, Bruce could end up walking 4 times tonight. No way in the world he gets anything to hit considering the player on deck.
June 26, 200818 yr If he's patient, Bruce could end up walking 4 times tonight. No way in the world he gets anything to hit considering the player on deck. The kid is really struggling. Maybe getting on base via the walk a few times would help his confidence. IF my math is somewhat close, he's about 21 for his last 90.
