Here's a video of the lady and her attorney on the Today Show. I'm guessing the piece that was defective was the metal heart that appears to be on the waistband.

 

I'm not a thong wearer so I have to ask. Is that the front or the back of the thong? I would guess the back which makes me wonder how it got her in the eye.
