I'll say this looking at the rosters it shocks me that the there were no lineman from the Louisville 6A schools on the east side. That would include schools like Trinity, Ballard, Eastern and such, I'll bet they don't make that mistake next year.

Boy, you're right there. You can bet Stein was missing the likes of Robey, Kupper, Griffin etc. last night.

Well in my opinion, the East was just shut out in coaching. All the talent in the world on the east side but shouldn't adjustments be made when you keep running the same play and the west keeps scoring?

 

Can't blame it all on the coaching...

17 members of the East squad were caught between floors in an elevator for more than 20 minutes on departure to Papa Johns. Several players were able to pry the elevator door open between floors to summom help. A player on the 4th floor came over to the stuck elevator and yelled into the elevator, "The East is going to kick your EDITED." One of the guys in the stuck elevator recognized the guy on the outside and said, "Hey your on our team - We are the East!" He then went to get some help...

 

Although the game was ugly for the East, many on the East and West squads made friendships that will last for a very long time. Friendships that will carry well into their collgiate carrers. :thumb:

 

In regards to the slight turnout... very disappointing. IMO, they should move the game to the very next Saturday following the state finals. Interest is high, the athletes are in football shape and the play on the field would be better...

Great pics Guru... 300 fans is pathetic. That's not much more than the parents of each kid! Main reason..... $15 for a ticket!! That's insane.

I surround myself with people smarter than me... and trust me, that ain't hard to do! :banana:

Not too bright on the East team. The elevator alarm goes off when too many bodies are in it. Obviously, they were trying to cram a few too many on. From what I understand several groups were jamming the elevator all week causing the same problem. You'd think they would learn the first time.

As to the bolded part, you are absolutely correct. I played in the East West game back in the day. A couple of years later, some friends I made on the East team that ended up playing for UK really came in handy during what is best descriped as a "minor bar altercation" in Lexington when they saw me, recognized me and came to my assistance. I was mighty thankful I played in that game:thumb:

 

While the East team sounds like they got whipped bad, I'm sure they still had fun somehow.
