Brandon Housely To Holmes

Featured Replies

Housely will be eligible to play for Holmes.

Is this fact or are you assuming?

Time to stir the pot....

With the ruling on Euton and Jackson at Scott Cty published, what are your thoughts on Housely being eligible this year at Holmes?

Considering the facts of the reason for his transfer, the KHSAA would be heartless to rule this kid ineligible. I don't want to talk about it in here but it can be discussed in a PM.

Housley will be in a Holmes uni this year.

I personally think they all will be ruled ineligible. It's a bad year to try to transfer, thanks to papa Euton's comments.

It can't be fact until the KHSAA says so, but with the circumstances involving the transfer, IMO: he will be eligible.

Exactly. I would be very surprised if he were ruled ineligible.

I hope he gets eligible. Its is sad to see kids not get to play ball. This is his senior year and deserves to get to play!

Once again there is not a school in the state that would turn away Euton and Jackson if they landed on their doorstep.
Of course, I'm not sure everyone believes that was the way the transfers went down, either. ;)

Had a chance to speak with Coach Henley today and they haven't received the word yet on whether or not he will be eligible. From talking to him though I think it will be a go. They are currently living in the latonia area.

I wouldn't be surprised if he is ruled ineligible based on the previous ruling from the Scott Co. transfers.

Completely different scenario in this case. Don't want to get in to specifics as it is a personal family matter. Also there were no comments from he or his parents saying they wanted better competition and that factored in to the move.

That was not the only reason he moved though. Also, as for Jackson he is from central ky and his mom has worked at Toyota before. Doesn't sound too much different than the Johnson boy's mom moving back to Holmes.
This being the case, my question would be, how did Jackson end up at Rose Hill, 2 hours from central KY? Did the Euton-Jackson relationship start with AAU ball in grade school?

There must be a bonafide change of address, if not he will not be eligible.

And there was a bonafide change of address. He went from living in Newport to currently living on 42nd street in Latonia with his mother.

I think its a shame that he is transferring as I was expecting Newport to make some noise next year with the returning players. This will only make Holmes that much more deadly.

I dont think Housley should be ineligible due to the circumstances and proximity of the schools. Cities are separated by the Licking River and his address physically changed. Its not like they went across state like Euton, Jackson, Flannery, etc.....

Each transfer is handled as a case by case basis...the KHSAA does not rule based on "trends" of their decision...Scott Co., has nothing to do with any other transfer. From what I believe, this kid will be eligible to play for Holmes H.S. next season.

I think the first sentence says it all. Newport was going to be pretty solid next year and he was going to be a key piece to that.

He will definetly make an impact at Holmes though. I'd say he will be the 5th starter this year for along with Riley, Johnson Brothers, and Pittman.
