Lidge is automatic. He's perfect in save situations this year.

I hope you just jinxed him.

Valiant effort...

The road woes continue. Hopefully Harang and Volquez can get wins the next two nights because the Bailey-Hamels matchup sure doesn't look good on paper for the Reds.

The Phills might just be in the WS this year, or Zona...What I love is, the fact that this Team has played pretty darn well against Teams, that are near, or at the top of their division. Very excited with the direction the Reds are going.

Will say, I was dissapointed with Freel swinging at the first pitch, to lead-off the 8th.

^ He did that in the first inning too.

Well, you are right that he swung at the first pitch, but he didn't lead off. He has to start having a lead-off mentality, or he really can't help this Team, especially late in the game.

Freel and mentality or thinking are words that should not be used in the same sentence.

Thanks Reds...The one game I need you all to win you can't...

Utley is batting .320 with a major league-leading 21 home runs and 52 RBIs.

The record for home runs hit by a second baseman is 42, set by Rogers Hornsby in 1922 and tied by Davey Johnson in 1973.

Philadelphia’s Adam Eaton (1-3, 4.99 ERA) allowed one run and four hits while striking out six in six innings as the Phillies beat Colorado 6-1 on Wednesday night for his first win of the season.

He has given the Phillies a chance to stay in games this season after going 10-10 with a 6.29 ERA in 2007.

The veteran right-hander is 2-0 with a 4.19 ERA in six starts against the Reds.

Aaron Harang (2-7, 3.81 ERA) pitched well against the Phillies on April 5, allowing two runs and six hits while striking out six in seven innings as the Reds won 4-3. But he is 1-1 with a 6.62 ERA in six career starts versus the Phillies.

The right-hander is 0-4 with a 5.47 ERA in four road starts.

Utley never gets much pub but he is such a great hitter! I tried like crazy to draft him in fantasy baseball this year but my computer went down right before the draft. I wanted him or Hanley Ramirez.

Look for the Reds to have a 3-5 trip. I'd be thrilled with 4-4 now.

Yes, I would be as well.

Kent Mercker back on the 15-day DL, Danny Herrera up from Triple-A Louisville. I can't wait to see this kid pitch.
