May 17, 200818 yr The Preakness is just too short, and for a horse like Big Brown, it was easy pickins. I just hope he wins the Belmont. I really, REALLY, want to see a Triple Crown winner.
May 18, 200818 yr 5 1/4 lengths coasting... And could've won by 10+ easy the way all the others lost heart as he drew off in the stretch. Very impressive race, and he should have plenty left for the Belmont. And all was well in a winning day for me -- and I even went against Big Brown.

May 18, 200818 yr The aerial shot of the race is my favorite. Coming out of turn 4 into the top of the stretch, the jockey turned him loose and it looked like the other horses were running on treadmills compared to Big Brown. I hope he can finish it off at Belmont.
May 18, 200818 yr Big Brown won't win the belmont, because of the "Cauthan Curse." While racing in England in the early 80's, Steve Cauthan made the aquaintance of a voodoo witch doctor. As a favor, the "doc" placed a curse on all of horse racing. According to the curse, no horse will win the Triple Crown until its jockey can out-shoot Steve in a game of H.O.R.S.E. Disclaimer: This is just a "tall" tale.

Big Brown is the class of the 3 year olds, I can't wait to see him go against Curlin either in the Travers or in the Classic.

I would love to see Big Brown and Curlin face off too, but I think Big Brown will be retired after the Belmont. I also doubt Curlin will run in the Classic because it is on Synthetic surface at Santa Anita. The connections of Curlin are thinking about the "Arc" in Europe for Curlin instead of the Classic.

I just think they will retire him much like Smarty Jones, especially with the quarter cracks earlier in his career. Also if he wins the Triple Crown his stud price will be able to be much higher than if he were to face older horses in the Travers and lose. Three Chimney farm has already bought his breeding rights so they will have a say in his future racing as well, I believe.
