A little off the subject here, but I heard that Hargett is now going to NKU instead of Thomas More. Can anyone confirm this? If true is she playing ball at NKU?

 

Talked to her dad last week and she has been playing ball with the TMC girls'. And we talked about her playing with TMC next season.

 

So, unless something changed from last week..............

Knowing that family, I would doubt they would be willing to come back with their tails between their legs to WVHS and try to make nice. My bet would be that they would move if they had to.

 

Well if you all do not want her back at WV we will take her!. I can certainly understand her going where her father is. After all it is not her fault that small schools like ours pull the talented 8th graders up to play Varsity.

 

As far as the team, WV will also miss the depth that they had. It is hard when you only have a 6-7 man rotation especially with fouls etc. I saw some other WV players playing this summer that looked to be working hard. One of them will be a junior and she played with the VOls in SOAS. Looked like she might get some good minutes this year.

Interesting. I don't believe they moved. I was thinking the same thing. I don't know if BCSS is accepting tuition kids but if they aren't, there might be a problem. Her dad is a para-professional coaching and I don't believe that exempts them from moving to make her eligible.

 

Three yrs ago they did not accept tuition students and I don't think things have changed. Being a para-professional does not have any perks as far as allowing your child to attend that school. As far as I know, they have to make a bonafide move for her to attend school at Ryle.

Well that is too bad to hear because I think she is a very good player and moves with the ball very well.

 

However, WV still has some nice players and maybe some different ones will step up now that so many have graduated.

If the transfer does happen, that will be 2 in the last 2 years from the same AAU team that is coached by a Walton parent. Wonder if the KHSAA will start investigating the situation.

 

The coach of the AAU team can talk to any of his players about attending Walton. He has no affiliation with the school and therefore the KHSAA has no power to do anything to the Walton program.

No, but that is just a Boone County Rule, not a KHSAA Rule. They live right on the border of the Ryle and WV districts

No doubt she would have helped on the court, but as far as the first part of your statement goes, I would have to disagree. I cannot imagine a more problematic parent. Hopefully this does not occur at Ryle and she gets a chance to have a long and healthy career. But I doubt that it would change at this point.

I have talked to Ryle players and parents about Cheeseman's dad and they all think he did a great job with their girls and girls loved playing for him. Ihave also seen him at recent camps andAAU events with team and daughter playing and do not se any problems. Maybe he is not one with problem. He told me his daughter made decision and is excited at this point.

As I said before I wish the player all of the best of luck she has an uphill battle switiching schools along with the rest. Hopefully things go well for her and they continue to be pleased with his coaching. Maybe it will be easier with him coaching her from the bench instead of trying to do it from the stands.
