The UNC Nation has been up in arms for 2 days down here because of Roy's appearance Monday night with a Jayhawk on his chest.

It's interesting that the vast majority of Tar Heel faithful are put off by Williams (at least on the boards and air waves).

 

I wonder if this were a UK coach and Cat fans were upset would people be calling UK fans petty and in need of "getting over themselves?"

I think it shoes class on his part to support the team he cared for many years.

Imagine if Kentucky had knocked Louisville out in the Final Four, and Rick Pitino showed up to the championship game in a blue sweater with a white, interlocking U & K... would you expect Louisville fans to flip out?

I'd say the fact that they'd just kicked the absolute crap out of them one game away from a ring would help balance that scale.

Nothing wrong with Williams being there. Nothing wrong with sitting with the Kansas people. But wearing the shirt was a little much.

Eye of the beholder. I thought he was just supporting an old school and old friends, but I can see where some UNC fans could freak out. Anyone think he was there because of Memphis? C'mon. It was just a shirt and a one time thing. IF he had worn it Saturday during the FF game, well.....

I'm pretty sure Roy had a black shirt on with a KU sticker on it. A little different if you ask me.

Well...if BCG would've gone to the Texas A&M game after we lost with an A&M sticker on his shirt...is it ok with Big Blue Nation?

 

I'm cool with it...if it would've been an OK St. sticker...maybe not so much...

I think that Roy was trying to make up from some of the sting caused by his abrupt departure.

This is like going w/ your girlfriend to watch her ex's band play...and she's wearing their band t-shirt. Yeah, she's there with you, and will go home with you, but it really has to peeve you.

I would flip too, but UK fans would be getting a lot more heat for being mad about it than UNC fans are getting right now.
