Yes the 11th is very good and very deep, and I've said that before and praised how tough it is. Didn't Holmes just beat the team that went UNDEFEATED in the 11th though? I rest my cast.

 

I don't believe I ever once made the excuse that Holmes was tired or worn out in the championship. I gave MC credit and talked about how good Miller was. Also I believe it was the LC players who were worn out as late in the game they were too slow to keep up with the Holmes penetration, causing them to commit silly fouls for playing defense with their hands rather than their feet.

 

And once again, it's easy to be the favorite when you get 1 or 2 transfers rather than working with what you originally had. And whats with the "YOUR Holmes team"? I'm from Fort Thomas and normally follow the Bluebirds but support the 9th rep since a relative of mine coaches down there. Get your facts straight before you start with the personal attacks.

 

Bringing it up games from last year has nothing to do with this year, but if you want to live in the past since your SECOND team was throttled in the region go right ahead my friend.

I saw the penetration... And the quickness. LexCath either fouled, or gave up baskets, or in the end I am recalling at least one situation that was both. (Pittman and 1).

 

I think what he is saying is that it is much easier to have a good program when you are constantly getting players. Holmes gets what they have, the Covington public school kids, and thats it.

I am a Holmes Alumni, born and raised in Covington. I have a successful career and a wonderful family. I have a child who graduated with honors from Holmes and currently a junior in college, my other child is a student at Holmes in advanced classes and in the top 10 of the class. So, for those out there that like to bash "Covington" and bash "Holmes", I say more power to you. We have our issues, as do many other communities, but we have a school with wonderful programs and opportunities.

 

We are the State Runner Up and we are extremely proud of what our team has accomplished this year. They fought the fight but the better team won.

 

For those that bash our players, take a look at which player won the Sweet Sixteen "Best Sportsmanship".

 

Not sure of the accuracy, so if someone can confirm....I was told that Holmes had the best 2008 record with only 3 losses.

Also Holmes did finish with the best record in the state at 34-3. Mason Co finished at 34-4.

Being from Ft. Thomas I support Holmes because of the family ties I have with one of the coaches over there.

 

I too noticed the 9th region fan base that showed up to support Holmes. It was quite nice. I don't think there were nearly as many in 97 when Highlands lost in the state championship to Eastern.

 

Over the next few years Holmes will without a doubt be the team to beat. Coach Henley has a very talented group of young men over there as well as even better kids off the court. I did an interview while I was down there and both Pittman and Henderson were very respectful and showed very good manners toward not only myself but also the other adults they spoke to.

Yes. According to the KHSAA web site, you have to be in quarterfinals to make all tournament.

 

That is how I saw it. He should probably be the tournament MVP since he was the difference between going 4-0 and 0-1.

I think King was a good choice.

If it were not for Setty in the Elliott game Mason would not have been playing Saturday. I really thought he should have been on the team.

 

It won't matter by the end of April. The Spring signing period for the '08 class will be complete and hopefully Setty lands somewhere.

I hope that Moorman from Owensboro opened some eyes to some scouts at the state. I have said it before and I will say it again: Someone is going to get a steal with this guy.

Each team that loses in the quarters gets one member on the team. If they lose in the semis they get two. Both teams in the finals get three and the media chooses an MVP. You have to win a game to get on the team.

Anybody know what kind of offers Moorman has?

I was told that Moorman had no Division I offers. Supposedly, even Kentucky Wesleyan didn't seem to be very interested.

 

If Moorman wants to play on the Division I level, he would probably be better off going to a junior college program and proving himself on that level for one or two years.
