Suprised that Setty did not make the selection, and suprised that King did.

I am too. I realize he finished the tournament with not his best performances, but without his knocking down those tension-packed treys against Elliott County, Mason County wouldn't have gotten past the first round.

Do you have to reply to everything said about Holmes? Once again, I believe they just got done playing in a state championship so rather than dissecting everything said about them, give the kids credit.

 

BTW, didn't Holmes beat the same Lexcath team that sent your Scott Co Cardinals home by 26? All that talent that you speak so highly of and they still were watching from the stands..:sssh:

Not everything, just when it deserves something being said. They are sitting at home, but I wouldnt put that on the kids that will be back. Those seniors seemed to lay down down the stretch for the most part. They also seem to have a pretty talented kid coming in next year for sure, along with another talented kid possiblly coming. Throw in Manning the freshman and there is reason for optimism with SC.

My question for you is this then. Do you know anything about the freshman class at Holmes or what they have coming up? Obviously not, so I wouldn't put one team ahead of another when you know nothing about the other. Holmes has 2 legitimate D1 kids right now who are sophomores in Pittman and R. Johnson. Gillespie came away impressed with both and I know for a fact R. Johnson is already getting recruited by Georgetown. (Hoyas)

 

Also if you saw the majority of my posts, you'd realize I am from Fort Thomas so Highlands is my team but I have a relative who coaches down there at Holmes so therefor I support and follow them a little more closely with the run they just made.

 

As for your last statement, that's fine. You have your opinion and I have mine. Unlike you though, I'm not going to comment about what SC has coming up considering I know nothing about their sophomore class or freshman or what they return for that matter, outside of Phares who is a phenomenal athlete and player. Hopefully the two will get a chance to meet over the next two years so it can be settled on the court. Until then I consider this a moot point. Both teams obviously have a lot of upside and will be very good the next few years.

If Jackson decides to go to SC, there is a very good chance SC will have 6 future D1 basketball players on the squad next year. That is a few more than you have named from Holmes.

I would expect these two to meet at least by these guys senior years. It may be too late to pull something off for next year, but with the talented class at Holmes I would expect SC to look to schedule a meeting by their senior years.

That's not the problem... NKY's population is growing faster than anywhere else in KY. They might want to consider bigger, but not so many schools up that way.

A superintendent who played college basketball helps too. (Things could really change in Scott Co. depending on who the new superintendent is next year.)

Yes. According to the KHSAA web site, you have to be in quarterfinals to make all tournament.

Yes the 11th is very good and very deep, and I've said that before and praised how tough it is. Didn't Holmes just beat the team that went UNDEFEATED in the 11th though? I rest my cast.

 

I don't believe I ever once made the excuse that Holmes was tired or worn out in the championship. I gave MC credit and talked about how good Miller was. Also I believe it was the LC players who were worn out as late in the game they were too slow to keep up with the Holmes penetration, causing them to commit silly fouls for playing defense with their hands rather than their feet.

 

And once again, it's easy to be the favorite when you get 1 or 2 transfers rather than working with what you originally had. And whats with the "YOUR Holmes team"? I'm from Fort Thomas and normally follow the Bluebirds but support the 9th rep since a relative of mine coaches down there. Get your facts straight before you start with the personal attacks.

 

Bringing it up games from last year has nothing to do with this year, but if you want to live in the past since your SECOND team was throttled in the region go right ahead my friend.

If it were not for Setty in the Elliott game Mason would not have been playing Saturday. I really thought he should have been on the team.
