Meeks and Patterson return for the first round?

Featured Replies

What is the point really? UK isn't going to the Final Four even if they do play. They need to be shut down for good.

I'm ify about the whole thing. I mean what if Patterson is cleared to play but reinjures his foot and it becomes a worse problem than what it was? What are they going to do then? Would we say he shouldn't have played even though he was cleared? I mean what if he comes back and is healthy and UK plays Texas in the Elite 8? There are two sides to it, and who knows what will happen. They have till Thursday..IF they think he can play then I'd sit him for as much as I could during the Marquette game. I still say no though!

If Patterson plays, UK should start looking for a coach who they can sign to a contract. It would be stupid, irresponsible, and unfair to risk an even more serious injury to Patterson by rushing him back to play in a tournament in which UK will be lucky to advance to the second round.

No way for Patrick and I would just rest Jodie. That is the only way it is going to heal.

Even with Patterson I don't like our chances against Standford.

Give me some random guy off the street with one leg named Patrick....

In honor of the Irish holiday I would take a leprechaun with one leg over Coury.

Ah, Standord has lost 7 games. They're not exactly an unbeatable force. I don't know that Kentucky can do it, but anything is possible.

:thumb: We need to get by Marquette first, and well I think Stanford might have a harder time with Cornell than people think. But if we do play them, we will have a hard time stopping them inside. However they wouldn't be able to go man on us on defense, because we will give them mismatch problems with our 4 guards. So they won't be able to have both Lopez's in at the same time unless they play zone. And if they do that, we just need Bradley and Crawford to be hitting their shots. I know I would like our chance against them if we get to the 2nd round.

That would be great if he is ready. If we could get him for 10minutes in the game it could give someone a rest. I am not one that usually says something like this, but Meeks a 50% would be better then Coury. I know there are going to be some on here that dog BCG over this. If the Doctors say it is OK and Meeks is happy with it let it happen.

That's what I'm saying. If they say Patterson is 100% and no risk of further injury, I have no problem with him playing either.

By no means am I looking past Marq. because they are a worthy opponent and are the higher seed but I have seen Stanford mention along with us a few times on here and on t.v. What scares everybody about Stanford is no doubt the Lopez twins. If I remember back a few years ago Utah had a big guy that scared alot of people too. What happend there. We threw two 7 footer at him the whole game and they pretty much shut him down. Nobody thought Orbzut or Alleyne(sp?) could do it. I know 2 7 footer's on our roster right now that compares to them other two. Neither is as good as Orbzut but if that game does happend then I would not be surprised to see some action out of Carter and Williams. They wouldnt be asked to score, just play tough D and try to bang their big guys around. If they could cause Brooke problems getting looks and contested shot then UK will put themself in good situations. BTW Robin doesnt scare me much as an offensive threat. I know what I said is a long shot but it's a thought
