Who are the top 15 players in the 2008 "Sweet 16"?

Featured Replies

Do you think Pittman could find his way on this list?

Pittman of Holmes?

I don't think so. Not yet atleast. By next year and his senior year though, he and Ricardo Johnson of Holmes will be two of the top 5 players in the state.

Being sophomores and already 6'5 guards, they are obviously going to grow a few more inches the next few years.

Ricardo Johnson might be the bigger D1 prospect but Pittman will probably be the bigger of the two. I wouldn't be surprised to see Pittman at 6'7 and playing the guard/forward position his senior year. Good thing about both kids is while they will both be probably 6'6 and 6'7 by the time they're seniors, they will be good enough to play the guard or forward position since both can take you down low or hit 3's now.

Holmes also has a freshman who is already 6'6 in Keyvon Arnold. Ricardo Johnson and Pittman's senior year, you could very well see this height in the starting lineup:

Pittman 6'6 or 6'7 (G/F)

R. Johnson 6'6 (G/F)

J Johnson 6'5 (F)

K. Arnold 6'8 (G/F)

Scary to think about having to go up against that kind of length and athleticism.

Matthew St.john could be added to the "others" list he is growing bigger everyday and with a Coach like Steve Wright his potential is unreal.

I haven't seen him this year but last year he didn't really impress me... JMO...

Good Idea, For Holmes I would say...

1. Arrez Henderson- Top 5 senior in the state, explosive athlete, Plays great D, Good Shooter and can get to the rack almost whenever he wants.

Forgot one thing... Deadly fromt the short corner. If he gets the ball in the short corner you might as well put 2 points on the board and take it out of bounds...

When the tounament is over there will be a lot of talk about a few Covington Holmes boys!! Like Ricardo and JJ Johnson and the Henderson youngman.

The thing about the Johnson boys is that they actually complement each other very well.... Rico gets all the pub and does a lot of the flashy work and scoring, while Jeremiah does a lot of the rebounding plays solid D and does the dirty work without saying a word.

Couldn't have said it any better.

I like this list.:thumb:

Definitely take Whitaker from Hazard over Smart. He does nothing but stand around and wait for a teammate to draw a defender so he can shoot.

The boy's going to Vanderbilt. He should probably be higher, IMO.:ylsuper:

I haven't seen Middleton pass the ball that much to be considered the teams best passer!!!! If he plays under control and unselfish then I would put him in the top 15. But haven't seen to much of that as of late. Also I would put the Fergason kid ahead of Setty.

We can tell you do not work for one of the recruiting services ranking talent! I can see 1-6 but the rest needs to be rearranged

Wasn't ranking by college potential. But one "fact" remains, the top 5 all have "legit" offers at some level or have committed. Even going by college potential, the list is not off by too much.

Oh, one more note, the top 6 have all led their team to win(s) over top 20 teams at least once this season.

IMO Ricardo Johnson Holmes Sophomore will enlighten many of you from downstate who havent had a chance to see him yet. He could be the next Darius Miller and I mean that. He dunks at will, has a great dribble drive, is long and athletic. He can also knock down the Jumper from 3pt land. Just keep your eye on that kid.

Top players IMO

Darius Miller-

Scotty Hopson

Taylor Stewart

Jonathan Ferguson -some may disagree but man this kid can fill it up.

Arrez Henderson

5 is all Im good for at this point.

In your five, only one has zero offers. Edmondson has up to 3 or more D1 offers now, by default he should be in the top five but western Kentucky talent is ommitted from this board.
