Johnny Bankemper's td against CovCath in the playoff's in 1982. I wasn't involved but it seem to be one of the most climatic td's to end a game for a Bluebird victory.

Hmmm ,a lot of these have the same theme. I know I have two and one is the 82 TD by JB and the other was the first play from scrimmage for HHS against, you guessed it, CovCath, when Justin Frisk took the hand off and it was "see ya later"-TD!!!. I'm sooo old I forget the year. Maybe '96? But that play was absolutely, how should I say this, um "AWESOME"!!!! So was yours JB.

I have a few favorites, but I must say my all time favorite was when LN and I were watching the '75 State game and he pointed out what a great tackle he made on a particular play. I then asked him what his number was in High School (as if I didn't know, but he seemed to have forgotten). Needless to say it was the same as the guy that had made the great tackle.:lol:

Actually, it was Bodie that made the tackle. I couldn't tell which linebacker was me and which was him. I of course assumed that I was the linebacker that made the tackle. :laugh:

Another play that stands out to me was in the 90's (possibly '95 or maybe '92) in the playoffs against Bell County and Damion Chuke made a last second field goal in a freezing rain to win the game. Always fun to beat Dudley at Bell in a playoff.:banana:

Technically not a play, but whatever floats your boat I guess.. All I know is that we handily won the state championship against a very good Boyle team without Mike. Whether we could have beaten Bell or CovCath without him is just wild speculation by everyone.

That will always be one of the most memorable moments in high school football history. What made it truly great was what was going on behind the scenes leading up to the play. :thumb:

Though there are many to pick from, my favorite play comes from the 2007 season, of course. Of all the TDs and the big hits and the "Hail Terry", my favorite play of all time is Matt Reeds int and return during the Scott playoff game. I have watched it many times, and yes he was in. What make this play special for me, besides the great play made on the field, was the celebration from the Birds' sidelines. In my mind, that play was the signature of the 2007 team. I'll never forget it.

Man, are you getting old or what!!!! The kick Damon made was against Bell happened in 96. Birds were beaten until Justin decided it was his time to shine. That drive he sucked it up and carried the load all the way down to about the 20-25. It was truly an amazing series of plays to watch unfold.
